  • Zwei Vier Zwei Forever !!!

  • Los pioneros del EBM haciendo gala de su despliege electro terroristas, recuerdo el futuro de sus canciones, su legado, su vision, desde "No Shuffle" donde advertian el calentamiento global, "here in the north pole, on this quite dome" ahora las trincheras son diferentes musicalmente mas sin embargo las semillas fueron sembradas para dar pie a nueva musica, todo mi respeto para Front-242

  • yess!!! gets me going every time...

  • who could tell me something about the content of the lyrics? I have the lyrics, but i don´t know how to interpret them?

So.. what could the song be about?

    Thanx for suggestions in advance.

    Glückauf

  • Think about BDSM, then the lyrics will make sense.

    ;-)

  • Well, I think "warm little beasts" must be some kind of animals like rats or some other pets... I've never thought they could mean "children".

  • @irionik no it s about sperm

  • @steigerbasel

r u serious pretending we made a song about child abuse?

the master is the owner of the snake who's telling the story...

  • Sorry for the misleading wrong interpretation, now i have a better idea of what´s the song about. Still my favorite song of Front 242.

  • @richard232323 lol, u just ended 20 years of debate right there :D

  • @irionik I notice this with many of their songs. lol

  • @steigerbasel haha, i don't think any of their stuff makes any sense and i've listen to them a billion times. impossible meanings..lol

    great head trips tho

  • @steigerbasel i heard it was about friedrich nietzsche

  • This seems likely to me

  • @steigerbasel

  • 1987 Wow this sounds great, thanks to Youtube I keep finding great music.

  • This vidéo is from 1987, they already ruled. I saw them on the 1st november 09 in Hasselt, Belgium, and they still rule !!!

  • @gazomu my favorite band always will be this song is so brilliant

  • Maybe I'm getting older, but in those days there was real music. FUCK the britney spears of today!

  • Tak!!! Dobry utwor. Fuck the britney spears! I am also getting older but this is a insane music. Much better than alll staff today. The "Funkhadafi " is also very good.

  • @TheRubyG Fuck off R&B "Music" !

  • @TheRubyG I get where you're coming from, but they're completely opposite colors in the musical spectrum. "Real music" is a totally personal term. EBM and industrial are after specific target audiences, and in this case, Front 242 could be considered the pop of industrial. I remember when I thought my industrial collection was "too dancey" and invested in multilple Nurse With Wound and Coil CDs, but I soon learned that I was just afraid of popular bands.

  • @noizyme I'm not saying that I hate popular bands because there are some great bands among them and I have a very divers taste of music, but come on!....Britney Spears!?!?

  • @TheRubyG

I envy you if u lived this music :)

  • super

  • Njihova najjaca pjesma.

    Their strongest song.

  • haaaa waar is die tijd

    die goeie tijden =)

  • THX FRONT!

  • After this, everything seems so....tender!

  • i saw them every time they played Medusa's in chicago from 86 to 88, which seemed like every other week.. am so lucky to have grown up in that place and time and gotten to see 242, ministry, nitzer ebb, new order, revco etc. a few blocks from my house. poor kids today..

  • wow !! Lucky You !!!

Well I Live In a Town Close To The Border to USA And i Saw Depeche Mode Twice, New Order, Gary Newman, Peter Murphy, Pet Shop Boys and Erasure In Concert Not Bad !! HA ??

  • Idd, Weedytje, proficiat @ whitekudu.

  • NICE!!!!..........242 for ever

  • tremendous subject 5 stars a greeting from Spain ;)

  • First I had a copy of the album 'Official Version' on cassette tape. Later when I got the official version on vinyl I discovered that the tape copy was copied at a slightly lower lower speed. I tended to play the record also on a slightly drop of speed. It made the album more dramatic. LOL

  • I just love how they make absolutely no sense but I still love it anyhow.

    What a trip.

  • You seem as tender as the warm little beasts I'm so fond of..

  • ??????????????

  • para mi el mas gordo de los front aunque va en gustos ya se sabe

  • Master!!!!

  • word !!!

  • BEST OF THE BEST

  • Best Album made, so good in fact that I wore out this song on the album. Does anyone have a relatively new album of this. I would like to purchase it if its the original album and in mint condition. I collect old 80's alternative music

  • that's f*cking awesome !

  • porno futuristic music!!! it will come back in the next years!

  • Excellent! iIwas there! My first live ever! Fan-Tas-Tic!

  • @Polygamma Same here ... first ever live show that I saw. Was on October 10th, 1987 at the Cabaret Metro, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. PACKED sold out house. Wall to wall people. I was stage right and squished against the stage ... will remember the awe that I felt in seeing F242 come out with the mining helmets, high powered hand held lights, and the anti-riot gear outfits. Very cool. Funny thing is that I can pick myself out in the crowd in this video (just briefly during the crowd shots).

  • @trollcrusher242 I went to the same show in S.F . It was unforgettable I loved it !!!

  • @lou21ist

Back in 1987 you saw Front 242 as part of this tour? Hmmm.

Reason being is that Front 242 was not able to obtain temporary work permit visas through U.S. Customs back then on the date of this show. They did a gig or two in Canada, then drove to the border between the U.S. and Canada at which point the founders of Wax Trax! Records had driven from Chicago in a U-Haul truck to the border to pick up the band and their equipment and then bring them back across the line into

  • the States.

They did so under the guise of being "tourists" and once they got back to Chicago, they did the gig, packed up their gear, stayed overnight and then headed back across the border (or flew out to Vancouver [if my memory serves me correctly ... I may be in error on this recollection] ).

I don't think that they did ANY other gig in the U.S. as part of the "Official Warfare Tour" during 1987. Once again, due in part to the work visa issues.

  • @trollcrusher242 Correction I didnt go to "official warfare tour" I went to "front by front tour" in the late 80s.

  • @lou21ist

    Good deal then. ;-)

Yep. The "Front By Front Tour" took place in 1989 ...

THAT tour was nationwide for sure. ;-)

Glad you enjoyed that show in San Fran way back then. Gotta be some bootlegs of that show out there as I do know there is a live bootleg of the Chicago show at the Metro on May 13th, 1989.

  • @trollcrusher242 I went and saw there, FRONT BY FRONT tour at the filmore, S.F . I remember the cool intro with the helments & lazers .

  • @lou21ist

Yeah ... they used the mining helmets and the laser pointers / flashlights for both the Official Warfare Tour (1987) and then the "Front By Front Tour" (1989), just different stage uniforms.

1987's are as you see them in this video (even better in the official "Quite Unusual" video), and 1989's were a bit more "Euro-Industrial" in appearance.

  • @trollcrusher242 Am happy to see that there are still fans of "Front 242" and Industrial- music. I Also love "SKINNY PUPPY".

  • omg I'm so happy you posted this! I have so much of their material on old vinyl, but no turntable. I always wanted to know, what are the lyrics to the chorus?

  • "Give me some more of the warm little beasts

    I'm so fond of" ;-)

  • Fabuleux !!!!

  • sou apaixonado por essa banda, desde a primeira vez que ouvi

  • this track is amazing !

but why is it crap today ?

  • Music, Energy, Testosterone !!!! SUPER.

  • 5 stars.

  • my favorite!!! i love it

  • this is F242 at their best!

  • Belgiums best export product ever. And that's including beer and fries. ;)

  • Punk times in the catacombe, love it

was by the way in germany!

  • I bought a VHS of front 242 at Hastings without even knowing what they sound like. This is the video that got me into them. "I'm on the other side. I'm on, I'm on, the other side!"

  • do jaja CROATIA

  • Yet more proof that electronic music rules the world. I await keyboard hero!!

  • TENDER!

  • My favorite version of this song is this live version on video. The imagery with the Mi-24 Hind in the back and the flight suits, safety goggles, etc. is the purest expression of militant rivethead style. Amazing. This is the roots of Industrial.

  • remember that tour in 1987, they came to tijuana, mexico,

    pure inspiration!

  • awesome!

  • incredible sound!

  • i don't get it, cabaret voltaire is a nice little group with good ideas. front is awesome, revolutionary!

  • luc van acker was a gas, hung out with him back in the RevCo days

  • you know me

    I sure know you

    everyone of you

  • That quote is from the movie "Videodrome" by David Cronenberg

  • And what is this song about?

I always thought it was about Judas and the Hebrews expecting Jesus to be a military leader to lead them to independence from the Romans and their disappointment that he wasn't.

  • Do you have proof for that origin of "Masterhit"? Im just asking because i´m also really interested in the origin of Masterhit. What are the lyrics about? Who are the "warm little beasts"? CHildren?

Would be kind of you to answer.

  • Haha, yes, who wouldn't...;D Awesome song by an awesome group!

  • I want be on other side!

  • Suena a The Web y Blue Heat the Cabaret Voltaire!!!, igaul suena lindo, pero.

  • esta vien verga la musica de front 242 ojala y pudieran venir a toronto

  • depechemode1875, your statement is a big lie based on just gossip, so I'm deleting your comment. Front 242, if any, always had left wing political ideas and they actually got tired of denying pronazism accusations again and again. Just because you're dressed as a soldier, that doesn't make you a neonazi and lyrics can be read in millions ways.

  • I missed dm1875s comment so I can not speak for his comment. But I never considered Front of being any political wing at all. In Europe you can have left ideologies but at the same time be a democrat - like a sicial democrat or in England you can be Labour, it is left but not any wing. Wing in my opinion is a radical - like a commie or natzi.

  • As radical as an ecologist can be, Reingur. Richard 23 was a candidate for the ecologist party of Bruxelles, "Ecolo", last year. I didn't mean the group had any radical or antidemocratic ideologies, but, of course, they were not nazis or ultraconservatives in any way.

  • I agree. I never saw that neonazi connection with these guys. Sure, they used (and use..) some military props here and there but as far as the music goes there's nothing in there to suggest it. I always assumed they were singing and doing music about man in extreme situations and how it affects us. Unfortunately, war and conflicts creates these circumstances so it's natural that this reflects back in the music. But the neonazi rumours are rubbish. I'm not too sure about Feindflug though.. hehehe

  • Que la toquen cuando vengan a lima :)

  • This still makes you want to move!

  • It was fun 2 c em as opener for DM in Sporthalle Cologne in the 80´s!!

  • I love you front 242, you are the best

  • ejakulation...

  • GENIOS !!!!!

  • I own Front by Front and all the 242 discs. Heck I was listening to Tyranny in the car all day yesterday. So take that into account when I say that Masterhit has always sounded like a B Side Depeche Mode dance remix to me. I'm not trying to get down on 242. but whenever I hear Masterhit I think it's Alan Wilder for some reason.

  • Dude....depeche mode would have only dreamed of making music like this.......

  • I respect your opinion but I honestly think Alan Wilder is the more talented party. Wilder wrote the majority of the scores for Black Celebration, Music for the Masses and Violator which were are all major albums. Wilder deliberately kept things simple to stay with the Depeche Mode idea. if you listen to his solo work it's much more complex.

  • Class.

  • Fuck yeah!

  • this so fucking totally blew me away in 88. cold war electro/industrial.. cant beat it :)

  • YES!

    Thx for posting!!

  • la polla ke tiempos aquellos.....lo mejor de lo mejor..

  • This was the "Official Warfare Tour" in 1987.

I saw them 17 april in Den Haag (Paard van Troje). The power they produced was incredible. Masterhit wasn't my favorite at that time (Agressiva was even more powerfull),

but it's still impressive for shure...

  • Remember seeing them live in 1989. Loudest concert I ever been to, ever, period.

    But daymn!

I was just a kid but it was hella tight!

  • просто убойная песня

    front 242 рулит

  • Seen them in '87 at Weisbaden, W.Germany sponsored by Boy of London. Great show!!!

Lost everyone trying to get to the front of stage.
