This story revolved around the battle between Yin and Yang (Good and Evil). His darkness was making him hate his life instead of appreciating it and by seeing what his life would have been had he never been born into his family he finally learned that family is the most important thing.

He was the chef who was getting his picture made with the kid's parents in the alternate reality. He was apparently the one that made the restuarant such a success.
