What the HELL is it that you don't understand Sam? He believes in God, you twat, he has decided that he doesn't want to run. He has made a good amount of money, so you say he worships money. You're disgusting. You are just after cash and you think they are.He made cash because he's skilled, he earnt it. That doesn't mean money is his only/main priority. That money comes with appreciation.You are Vile.These pro israel Evangelical christians are cut from a different cloth from scum like you.
@bolius1 America will become a much better country when we finally rid ourselves of all leadership that governs how they think by what some ancient book tells them. We need morally straight, logically thinking, educated people to run this country, not barbaric fools that believe in ancient superstition. Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin are poster children of what a politician should NOT look like. it's time we remove church from state, LIKE THE CONSTITUTION TELLS US TO DO.
Except that Evangelical Christians are not barbaric, and are morally straight. Whereas atheists are often liberals, don't have a strong sense of right and wrong, and often don't hate evil enough. Guys like Mike Huckabee, or Allen West or Herman Cain, or Alan Keyes, are a cut above the rest. Particularly Allen West.
@bolius1 This is a common misconception. Christians, ESPECIALLY evangelical type are not moral in any real sense. They govern they're morality on the teachings of an ancient book. This causes christians to heavily persecute and discriminate people such as homosexuals, based on no moral compass other then "God says it's bad". Liberals, and atheists, think freely, and consider an event or person for what they are, understand the harm or lack of harm, and treat ALL humans with respect. Nice try.
@bolius1 In addition to what I just said, Liberals are about as moral as it gets. Take for example Conservative GOP type religious lunatics who have a cut-throat capitalistic/Darwinist attitude based on stomping on middle-class and poor citizens, giving tax breaks to big business and in return get to line their pockets with big-business's lobbiest donations (AKA legal bribes). Liberals are pro freedom, social services, universal healthcare, aid for less fortunate people, etc etc. Nice try.
there aren't that many things in their NT in terms of ancient regulations. They follow Jesus. Regarding homosexuals... do they persecute them? Homos can do what they want in their own home. Christians have a saying - Hate the sin not the sinner, a difficult to thing to keep..but they manage it, when the person isn't a threat. Homosexual marches are just designed to provoke and offend. Who wants to see men walking around dressed and acting like women?
@bolius1 Problem is that you bible thumpers DO persecute them by promoting LAW to restrict rights that straight couples are automatically given and taken for granted. On top of that, distaste for homosexuality isn't based on any moral grounds, and is just the 2000's example of religious based oppression, much like women rights 30-50 years ago, and African american oppression and segregation before that. Religion is a poison that completely destroys a person's moral compass. Get a clue.
Social services and universal healthcare, aid.. All nice in theory. But you have to remember "At What Cost". Britain has some problems with families with 7 children on benefits,. There are some families getting over £100,000($160,000) a year. There are 50,000 families getting over £26,000 ($41,000).
@bolius1 Are you kidding me? Do you know ANYTHING about the world, and the history of health care? The UK is ranked 18 in the world on healthcare, and USA is ranked **37**. Fear mongering of the GOP idiots push down your throat have obviously prevented you from looking into the facts. America is one of the ONLY industrialized nations in the world that doesn't see health care as a right, but a privilege of the wealthy, which is about as morally f'ed up as it gets. Keep drinking that koolaid!
@Sanosukeafo In practice, personally, I think NHS is great actually.. we like it in Britain. Americans don't see it. Who knows if it'd work in America. It might not. Taxing businesses more may not be a good idea 'cos it can just hit employees/staff.. the average citizen. The thing with socialism is, while the intentions are noble, there's a famous road that is paved with good intentions.
To quote Churchill "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Pay attention to the last bit, equal sharing of misery. In America you have too many idiot liberals.. They don't ask "At What Cost" Probably more social policies are needed but with common sense, and liberals don't have it.
@bolius1 We already have socialistic services in america, like MEDICARE (Which IS underfunded). Ask any doctor if they prefer a medicare patient over an HMO patient. They ALWAYS say MEDICARE. Also highways, water, and other public services are common socialist systems in america and they work great. Problems will always lie in extreme economic systems, like 100% communist, or 100% socialist (and our near 100% capitalistic system is down right broke). Perfection lies in middle ground.
I agree that a mix of capitalist and socialist is the way. There shouldn't be govt bureaucracy interfering with free enterprise, making it hard to set up businesses.. I wish the right in America weren't so hostile to the NHS concept.. and didn't just assume it was too costly, but just looked at "What What Cost", and if it wasn't -too costly- to do, then do it or see what they can do, because to have people unable to afford basic healthcare is a terrible thing
@bolius1 Problem is that with ZERO regulation, capitalism rapes the middle and poverty class citizens, and causes insane problems (The housing crisis and financial meltdown for example, which was specifically caused by lack of regulation). If you want to look at what a great "socialist" healthcare system looks like, and what it costs, look no further then France and England, where taxes are at an extremely acceptable level, and cost / accessibility to care makes the US's look like a bad joke.
you say taxes are acceptable in England, but you don't have to pay them. You're not a small business owner , still middle class - that has to pay them. many of the really rich find ways to evade them. And believe me, the socialist healthcare system in England -is not great- it has lots of problems. Long waiting list. Limited access to specialists.Poor care.Those that are more wealthy buy private healthcare. Nobody in England says it's great.ButWeWouldn't want to be without it
@bolius1 Stop posting erroneous information, you're obviously stating opinions, NOT FACT; Canada had the highest percentage of patients (36%) who had to wait six days or more for an appointment with a doctor, but the US had the second highest percentage (23%) who reported that they had to wait at least this long. New Zealand, Australia, Germany, and the U.K. all had substantially smaller numbers of people reporting waits of 6 days or longer. US is also 2nd WORST in getting same-day appointments
You are absolutely hilarious.. AT LEAST 6 DAYS You are totally ignorant, this is the scary thing about liberals, you quote statistics as if you know about all these different places when you don't know what you're talking about. In the UK people wait MONTHS on national health care. I don't need statistics. I live there. I've been treated on the NHS, i've sat with relatives at the hospital bed-seen the care, and i've read news here. You're just looking at this from an alien's POV.
@bolius1 The point of the statistic was to point out that though there is some wait time in the UK for health care, US's wait time is far worst, by a much larger percent per person. People like you always state unfounded claims that the US system has it's advantages. US citizens not only pay more for care, we have a HUGE % of our population that gets ZERO care(NOT MORAL), and we have higher cases of long wait times for care then other SOCIALIZED systems. Read something other then the bible plz
Your "information" on Britain forming your argument, was completely daft. And you have no more experience to speak about New Zealand or France, than you do about Britain. As well as to read what you are responding to. I told you I'm not flat out against national health care. I think Britain should keep it. Partly for moral reasons.Bear in mind if you can, that not everything that works(with big problems) in one country, will work in another. And you need to learn self-criticism.
and I assume you're an idiot atheist, fanboy of the new atheists. You may have potential to be less of an idiot, because Sam Harris is pretty darn good. Why don't you read Sam Harris, he has terrible frustration with idiot liberals, that fail to understand that threat of militant islam, a threat he rightly says, christian fundamentalists understand. And don't make dumb assumptions. You have much to learn kid.
@bolius1 Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity.
Look at what my last words were to you kid,"And don't make dumb assumptions".You think i'm a Christian? A theist? a deist? Think again.Did I not suggest sam harris to you? I told you, you have to learn self-criticism. And you have to learn that the terrible christianity was of europe particularly medieval europe.Evangelical christians are a new breed. And they have a good foundation too in the teachings of Jesus, and claim to be going back to how their religion was originally.
@bolius1 LOL wow you're mind is so far gone. Do you know ANYTHING about religion? From your posts you sound terribly uninformed. Christianity is one of the worst concepts in history, completely immoral in just about every way. Christianity is no better then Sharia Law. Do some research and take your head out of your ass/bible before you comment back to me. Hell even most of our founding fathers understood that organized religion is evil. You sound like a fanatical idiot from the bronze age.
Answer the question. Suppose sharia law did evolve to not stone people for adultery.. would you still say it's as bad as it was? Don't evade the question.
@bolius1 I'll try and take a stab at what I think you're asking (As you wrote it so bad, i'm not really sure what you're getting at) IF sharia law ALLOWED adultery (As in NOT a crime at all) that would be a great step forward, but what about the other 100's of laws that are outrageous and immoral? (Just like the tons of ridiculous preaching of the bible). It'd take a lot more then just the removal of 1 law for me to bless off on either religious teachings as being "moral".
@Sanosukeafo As to your questions to me. Yes the earth is "millions"(billions actually) of years old. Yes I believe in evolution. Abortion it depends on the circumstances. Stem cell research is of immense importance, if done without killing embryos then great. If the "embryo" is so undeveloped then i'd say yes, but since it can be done without using embryos, I suppose there isn't even an ethical question, it's just a Yes Do It, it is vital.
In religion, marriage is the sanctification of a holy thing -marriage between man and woman. Homosexual sex is a sin in many religions. You can't sanctify something unholy, or something with no basis in a religion. It's not for you to force people to turn their religion to nonsense or more nonsense. Other things are important to people besides life and making money.
@bolius1 Marriage, or the union of 2 people, has been around far longer then any religion. Religion tries to make claim on it, like they own it, even though they DONT; but thats not the point. The point is that the state and federal level do not recognize the union of 2 same-sex people. This causes huge problems with adoption, hospital visitation rights, where property goes when one of the people in the relation ship dies, etc etc. Rights that a straight married couple get automatically.
Read the article where sam harris rebukes dawkins, he takes him to task, saying "“The refrain that all religions have their extremists is bull-t,” ""He also cautioned the audience against lumping all religions together.""He noted that...Christians had a right to be outraged when the media treated the two religions similarly."(i'd add not just christians should be outraged).Your moral compass is broken if you don't see that. Islam and Christianity r not "evil" and not equally bad.
@bolius1 I'm not sure how to get this into your head. You keep claiming liberals don't hate evil, liberals don't understand the threat of islam, blah blah blah. You're an idiot if you think we don't understand how ALL religions are a threat. Islam by far the worst, but Christianity is no better. Some how you think Christianity is some how good, though you don't agree with any of the GOP / Christian views? You've only proven that you're confused, and getting misinformation from bad sources.
What do you mean "Islam by far the worst but Christianity is no better" that's a contradiction. If Islam is worse, Christianity is better. There isn't just the 2 non-overlapping groups- Evangelical Christians, and Atheists. There's 2 other groups, People that believe in and want to defend freedom and democracy, and people that want or excuse or play down the barbarism of militant islam.The biggest enemies of freedom and democracy are that latter group,and they are mostly liberal
@bolius1 Who's playing down the barbarism of ANY religion? We've already established that ALL religions are f'ing barbaric, oppressive, superstitious nonsense that was invented BY MAN to control weak minded idiots LIKE YOU. We dragged Christianity into the 21st century by it's f'ing balls. Who put Christianity in line? THE PEOPLE. ESPECIALLY THE ATHEISTS, who got sick of their nonsense and said enough is enough. All religions are terrible, stop defending one of them, it makes you look dumb.
Also, you keep using the term Liberal. Excuse me, last I checked, progressive fucking liberals were the only sane people left on the block. All the ultra conservative GOP asshats do is sit around and try to ban gay marriage and give tax breaks to rich people. You're basically supporting f'ing idiots like Sarah Palin. Do you not even see how fucking stupid you look siding with the Palin Teabagger idiots? Uneducated people like you ruin this country. FFS
Also, you keep using the term Liberal. Excuse me, last I checked, progressive f'ing liberals were the only sane people left on the block. I think it's leftists on foreign policy that show the most moral blindness. In Britain there was a stop the war rally, leftists, where signs were carried saying "We are all Hezbollah now". It is when leftist intellectual Noam Chomsky, thinks George Bush is a terrorist . Or America the biggest terrorist.When I hear things like Dick Cheney is as bad as or worse than any foreign brutal dictator.Leftists make up the Anti War people, dumbly saying innocent people die so war is wrong
The fact that leftists worship Keith Olbermann, whose "Worst person in the world" is.. Bill O'Reilly. They call Bill a racist and all sorts of things.. and evil. I've seen him he's a normal guy, a bit macho and shouts over his guests sometimes but he has his opinion and he's no racist or evil person, and he at least has people on to debate with him. Leftists like Keith Olbermann do not debate people, and cannot.
Honestly do you think that siding with christian GOP Conservative party that think that tax breaks for rich, banning abortion and gay marriage, and dismantling unions is what this country needs? I'm a soldier, have been for 8 years now, 11b Paratrooper for 6 years, OIF veteran, and I swore to defend the CONSTITUTION.. that thing that reads "SEPERATION FROM CHURCH AND STATE!?" I don't remember reading the f'ing part that said "We The Rich Need To F The Average Worker in The Ass".
What did you mean when you said "Islam by far the worst but Christianity is no better" that's a contradiction. If Islam is worse, Christianity is better.
Sam has also pointed out how liberals often do'nt understand the threat from islammic terrorism, and what motivates it. "oh christians have terrorists"Sam once said brilliantly, and I don't recall his exact words, that if a line was added to the quran that red headed women should be beheaded, and we saw bags of heads in Saudi arabia, then somebody would stand up and say "oh this is not to do with islam, look in this state we saw a red headed woman just had her head chopped off"
I'm on their side because it's the lesser of two evils. Liberals like you are a terrible threat to America. You think for yourselves and mess up completely. I'd rather you had a bible and believed the earth was thousands of years old, at least you could then see the dangers america faces from outside, and identify what is really bad. Instead of seeing faults of Americans with a magnifying glass and minimising far worse evils which you equate with your own society or christians.
@bolius1 You're obviously a troll, and can't believe I wasted so much time talking to you. You agree with everything liberals stand for (Sticking up for middle-low class, universal healthcare, same sex marriage/unions, stem cell research, abortion etc etc) AND you don't follow any of the christian fundamental beliefs, but then you turn around and call me a "Liberal threat to america". News flash idiot, YOU'RE A LIBERAL! lol. You're obviously just very very very confused lol.
if people were all secular and had a strong moral compass, then I think it'd be a much better world. But since that isn't the situation, I accept the situation, that the strongest defenders of America, are evangelical christians. Also I do have a sensitivity to the fact that certain things are very important to religious people.. People are not just concerned with being alive and making money. I think muslims should be forced to let Sikhs have a state. Hindu india wants it too.
My issue with most liberals is in a large part summed up well in those quotes I mentioned where Sam Harris took Richard Dawkins to task for moral equivalenceOr Sam's obvious arguments that in some situations torture is justified,and the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy agrees with him. I agree with Hitchens on one point,that liberals tend to not hate evil enough.So for many reasons, and they identify the threat of militant islam.I prefer evangelical christians to most liberals.
@bolius1 Also, ALL religions are evil. You can't cherry pick a couple good lines out of the bible and claim it's a source of good. ALL religions are MAN MADE, divisive, poison. Aside from the fact that just about everything in the bible is historically and scientifically false, it boasts the same oppressive hate-filled nonsense and from your posts, it's clear you understand what is truly moral, and what is not. How can you side with such evil nonsense?? Smarten up please.
if you were to look at things in 2 sides, then i'd prefer them in power.. because I think America is stronger that way, with a bunch of religious christians who at least on the serious issue of islammic terrorism, can see right from wrong, and who don't try moral equivalence between islam and other religions. Many evangelical christian Americans wish America had a leader like Binyamin Netanyahu, he is not a religious man. My issue with liberals is the same as Sam Harris's.
i'm not saying the bible is a source for good or bad. there's good and there's bad, but religions have their own ways of treating text, and one line in one text can over-rule a bunch of bad stuff, like a bunch of times it can talk about stoning, but then another line says it doesn't apply. So just taking a text and picking verses you aren't figuring out a religion you're working out your own theology and judging that.. You need to judge religions based on what they are now.
and indeed, now, there is some bad, like you say, not allowing civil marriages for gays outside of a church, and them lacking rights, and being flat out against social welfare. Liberals have problems too, wanting social welfare without considering "At What Cost"But there's much good in the religious right, in them identifying the threat. And it's maddening to hear the moral equivalence many liberals like you do. My issue with liberals is the same as Atheist Sam Harris's.
In fact, i'll give you a chance to clarify exactly how morally straight you are. Post back that you agree that homosexual marriage should be allowed, that stem cell research and abortion are not immoral, that evolution is fact, and the earth is millions of years old, and I might consider your head not up your ass.
Homosexual marriage.. in a church, it's up to the church. They have the right to make their rules according to what they believe their religion demands. It's important to them. If they change their religion then that's one thing, but it doesn't threaten people.. and is nothing personal. If people don't like it they'll have to join a different church or don't do it just do a civil marriage. or no marriage at all.
@bolius1 Most of the US doesn't allow the union of 2 men or 2 women, no matter what (Marriage, union, whatever you call it). They can't even go to courthouse and get wed. The Jesus-based legislation that prevents this is a huge problem. Am I to assume you're fine with gay people getting unified / married and being recognized by the state or federal level? If so you've proven in your last 2 posts that you don't follow ANY of the same evangelical christian beliefs. Your on the wrong side fool.
My opinion is that there would never have been an infidel, if there had never been a priest. The artificial structures they have built on the purest of all moral systems, for the purpose of deriving from it pence and power, revolts those who think for themselves, and who read in that system only what is really there.
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Mrs. Samuel H. Smith, August, 6, 1816
All religion is a poison, Islam, Christianity, Scientology, doesn't matter. If we followed the bible to the letter (Like many Christians wish we did) Homosexuals, children that misbehave, and women who commit adultery would be STONED to death. Slavery, and the mistreatment of slaves, would be allowable. Contempt / disrespect of public officials would warrant DEATH. Rape of captured girls of enemy soldiers in war would be promoted. Christianity is no better then Sharia Law.
I only wish you lived under Sharia law, and as a woman. Or a hungry man that goes around stealing bread for his family(hand chopped off). You are an utter fool Sharia Law has never evolved to not stone people to death for adultery by the way. And it may never happen but suppose, that Sharia law did evolve somehow, and muslims no longer did these barbaric things.. You being a fool, would still say it's as bad as it was.
@bolius1 I never claimed Sharia Law has changed, I'm simply stating that Christianity's ideals are on par with Sharia Law, which the two are VERY similar in the nonsense they promote. Now answer my post I posed to you. It will show if you have your own brain, or if you're a sheep who can't think for himself.
I wish you didn't think for yourself 'cos you do such a bad job of it. You'd be safer with a bible. You couldn't even answer a simple question I asked. "Suppose sharia law did evolve to not stone people for adultery.. would you still say it's as bad as it was? Don't evade the question." I am not saying Sharia has or has not evolved. And i'm not asking you to say it is or would be moral.
6 days.. ROTFLMAO. Look at the NHS article on guide to waiting times. "Your right to start treatment within 18 weeks from referral" It's a question of months not days deary. And when there are problems it's more than a few months. If you google a bit like waiting list endoscopy you'll see a few years ago was a time in Britain of 12 months for Wales.You can read about cateracts, months. And when the Govt put targets on waiting times(like 18 weeks) other things can/do suffer.
again, i'm not saying scrap the NHS. but you think you know things that you really don't know, and it's dangerous! you need experience of what you speak of and you lack it.. you can't just look at this like an alien with a calculator and some selected facts, thinking you can solve problems you've not experienced. You're missing reality. If you knew the reality you'd know more correct things and more relevant facts. Like I quoted about the 18 weeks.
Also again u're missing the reality by thinking you can just look at a holy book and see some verses and say Hey the people with these books believing this book are barbarians.It just doesn't work like that. You have to look at what is preached. Slavery is not preached.Look at what is preached and how widespread and how often and how relevant and how the audience react.You have american TV, and it's on youtube. and parts of Arab TV are translated by MEMRI and PMW and on youtube.
@bolius1 I don't care what is "preached" at your 1 out of 1000000 churches. You idiots cherry pick what is SOCIALLY acceptable, and try to ignore all the injustices that were originally preached, all while STILL preaching different nonsense. It's obvious to me that your biased and unable to think for yourself. One of the verses that promotes and lays out how awesome slavery is, is located 5 verses before the 1 that talks about how homosexuality should be an act punishable by DEATH. LOL GG.
The religious -do- have a stronger sense of right and wrong than the secular who tend to be leftist. Fine they're wrong on being hostile to national healthcare. But take islammic terrorism as an example. Liberals are as thick as too short planks. They think it's anything else other than islam. Or they blame religion generally. Liberals should listen to Sam Harris , that's a man with a moral compass. This is a serious issue that threatens America. Christians -get it-.
@bolius1 Sorry but you're either not very religious / very uninformed, or even worst: that you're in denial. Youtube has a 500 character limit, but I know a good video documentary that sums up the moral compass of all of the big-3 religions very nicely. youtube.com/user/DiscoveringReligion#p/c/70E757541E8576D7/21/I1r1hsrQMj8 watch all 3 parts of episode 19. Lays out how evil religious morality is. Feel free to become educated and write me back. Hope you wake up and see reason.
Until Ted Nugent shows remorse for his comments about Obama and Hillary, you can't be a fan of Nugent AND call yourself a Christian. Choose one or the other, but Christ would not approve of... oh who am I kidding? Conservative "Christians" don't really give a shit about the teachings of Christ.
If the republicans truly believe in God then they should know that obama was put to lead this great nation by God and watever they do trying to destroy him with birth certificates and being a muslim will not work cuz i believe that God give power to people whether the people he gave it used it to do goood or bad only Gods knows best .
Huckabee is just like Palin, riding the political wave that the tea baggers have created. Not sure if they even care about real issues. They speak what the tea baggers want to hear regardless of truth and then caching...good as gold! They are both laughing all the way to the bank.
Ron Paul 2012!! Lets undo the damage that corporate greed, the lobbyists the democrats have done to our great nation! Lets create a special office to root out these failed cancers from our country... in a time where Americans bow their heads, broke and beat. In a time where the fed is bankrupt after the poison of the Bush legacy has steered our country on a wayward path...we need to end the fed, we need to take back what belongs to our children our future generations. This isnt the crusades.
Huckabee won't run because he is as gay as the day is long...just wait, an outing is coming soon. I wonder how the Christian conservatives will feel about him when they know he's a pole smoker....not well, I gather.
we all knew he wasn't he's a FAT Cat literally, he doesnt want to give up that RIGHT wing Moolaaa, Im glad he's not.all the GOP suck , dems suck too but not as bad come 2012 Ill Vote Obama will I be as happy as 08 Nooooo, but Ill still Vote Obama anyday over a GOP hatefest.
@Mattm1986 What has Obama done for America? Continuation of a Failed policy, propping up failed dictators world wide...increasing unemployment rates, a frightening weakend dollar... were you born in 1986? is that why you name includes that year? ? are you predisposed...not listening? Read the news today? In the news TODAY, the government is broke! Print money or our troops are out of bullets/barrow from china, india and russia to pay sheiks.. wtf is wrong with you man...change to believe in
@Mattm1986 Obama has continued the wars in the middle East. One soldier there is one too many. He has extended the patriot act rather than urging the congress to repeal it when he had the majority in the house and senate to turn it over. He appointed corporate lapdogs Gienther, Vilsack and Salazar to positions on his cabinet. He did not hold BP accountable for the disaster in the Gulf. He gave us a Corporate Healthcare plan with liberal frosting. I am voting independent now.
I am still voting for my democratic congressman and I will vote democrat in the race against Scott brown, as long as the democrat that wins is a true progressive. but I am never voting for Obama again, despite the fact he captured Osama Bin Laden. He will never capture real enemies of the country like the Koch Brothers because he serves them like her serves Goldmansachs who own his treasury department.
Nah, he knew all that talk about Obama being less American than the rest of us or him being on stage with that cock sucker has been Ted Nugent would come back to bite him in the ass. Fuck that fat fuck.

@Sanosukeafo

Nice try.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@bolius1 In addition to what I just said, Liberals are about as moral as it gets. Take for example Conservative GOP type religious lunatics who have a cut-throat capitalistic/Darwinist attitude based on stomping on middle-class and poor citizens, giving tax breaks to big business and in return get to line their pockets with big-business's lobbiest donations (AKA legal bribes). Liberals are pro freedom, social services, universal healthcare, aid for less fortunate people, etc etc. Nice try.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
there aren't that many things in their NT in terms of ancient regulations. Who wants to see men walking around dressed and acting like women?
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 Problem is that you bible thumpers DO persecute them by promoting LAW to restrict rights that straight couples are automatically given and taken for granted. On top of that, distaste for homosexuality isn't based on any moral grounds, and is just the 2000's example of religious based oppression, much like women rights 30-50 years ago, and African american oppression and segregation before that. Religion is a poison that completely destroys a person's moral compass. Get a clue.

@Sanosukeafo
Social services and universal healthcare, aid.. All nice in theory. But you have to remember "At What Cost". Britain has some problems with families with 7 children on benefits,. There are some families getting over £100,000($160,000) a year. There are 50,000 families getting over £26,000 ($41,000).
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 Are you kidding me? Do you know ANYTHING about the world, and the history of health care? The UK is ranked 18 in the world on healthcare, and USA is ranked **37**. Fear mongering of the GOP idiots push down your throat have obviously prevented you from looking into the facts. America is one of the ONLY industrialized nations in the world that doesn't see health care as a right, but a privilege of the wealthy, which is about as morally f'ed up as it gets. Keep drinking that koolaid!
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo In practice, personally, I think NHS is great actually.. we like it in Britain. Americans don't see it. Who knows if it'd work in America. It might not. Taxing businesses more may not be a good idea 'cos it can just hit employees/staff.. the average citizen. The thing with socialism is, while the intentions are noble, there's a famous road that is paved with good intentions.
bolius1 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
To quote Churchill "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Pay attention to the last bit, equal sharing of misery. In America you have too many idiot liberals.. They don't ask "At What Cost" Probably more social policies are needed but with common sense, and liberals don't have it.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 We already have socialistic services in america, like MEDICARE (Which IS underfunded). Ask any doctor if they prefer a medicare patient over an HMO patient. They ALWAYS say MEDICARE. Also highways, water, and other public services are common socialist systems in america and they work great. Problems will always lie in extreme economic systems, like 100% communist, or 100% socialist (and our near 100% capitalistic system is down right broke). Perfection lies in middle ground.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
I agree that a mix of capitalist and socialist is the way. There shouldn't be govt bureaucracy interfering with free enterprise, making it hard to set up businesses.. I wish the right in America weren't so hostile to the NHS concept.. and didn't just assume it was too costly, but just looked at "What What Cost", and if it wasn't -too costly- to do, then do it or see what they can do, because to have people unable to afford basic healthcare is a terrible thing
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 Problem is that with ZERO regulation, capitalism rapes the middle and poverty class citizens, and causes insane problems (The housing crisis and financial meltdown for example, which was specifically caused by lack of regulation). If you want to look at what a great "socialist" healthcare system looks like, and what it costs, look no further then France and England, where taxes are at an extremely acceptable level, and cost / accessibility to care makes the US's look like a bad joke.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
you say taxes are acceptable in England, but you don't have to pay them. Nobody in England says it's great.ButWeWouldn't want to be without it
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 Stop posting erroneous information, you're obviously stating opinions, NOT FACT; Canada had the highest percentage of patients (36%) who had to wait six days or more for an appointment with a doctor, but the US had the second highest percentage (23%) who reported that they had to wait at least this long. New Zealand, Australia, Germany, and the U.K. all had substantially smaller numbers of people reporting waits of 6 days or longer. US is also 2nd WORST in getting same-day appointments
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
You're just looking at this from an alien's POV.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 The point of the statistic was to point out that though there is some wait time in the UK for health care, US's wait time is far worst, by a much larger percent per person. People like you always state unfounded claims that the US system has it's advantages. US citizens not only pay more for care, we have a HUGE % of our population that gets ZERO care(NOT MORAL), and we have higher cases of long wait times for care then other SOCIALIZED systems. Read something other then the bible plz
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
And you need to learn self-criticism.
bolius1 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
and I assume you're an idiot atheist, fanboy of the new atheists.

I told you, you have to learn self-criticism. And you have to learn that the terrible christianity was of europe particularly medieval europe.Evangelical christians are a new breed. And they have a good foundation too in the teachings of Jesus, and claim to be going back to how their religion was originally.
bolius1 8 months ago

Don't evade the question.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 I'll try and take a stab at what I think you're asking (As you wrote it so bad, i'm not really sure what you're getting at) IF sharia law ALLOWED adultery (As in NOT a crime at all) that would be a great step forward, but what about the other 100's of laws that are outrageous and immoral? (Just like the tons of ridiculous preaching of the bible). It'd take a lot more then just the removal of 1 law for me to bless off on either religious teachings as being "moral".
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago

Other things are important to people besides life and making money.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 Marriage, or the union of 2 people, has been around far longer then any religion. Religion tries to make claim on it, like they own it, even though they DONT; but thats not the point. The point is that the state and federal level do not recognize the union of 2 same-sex people. This causes huge problems with adoption, hospital visitation rights, where property goes when one of the people in the relation ship dies, etc etc. Rights that a straight married couple get automatically.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
Islam and Christianity r not "evil" and not equally bad.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 I'm not sure how to get this into your head. You keep claiming liberals don't hate evil, liberals don't understand the threat of islam, blah blah blah. You're an idiot if you think we don't understand how ALL religions are a threat. Islam by far the worst, but Christianity is no better. Some how you think Christianity is some how good, though you don't agree with any of the GOP / Christian views? You've only proven that you're confused, and getting misinformation from bad sources.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
What do you mean "Islam by far the worst but Christianity is no better" that's a contradiction. If Islam is worse, Christianity is better. There isn't just the 2 non-overlapping groups- Evangelical Christians, and Atheists. There's 2 other groups, People that believe in and want to defend freedom and democracy, and people that want or excuse or play down the barbarism of militant islam.The biggest enemies of freedom and democracy are that latter group,and they are mostly liberal
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 Who's playing down the barbarism of ANY religion? We've already established that ALL religions are f'ing barbaric, oppressive, superstitious nonsense that was invented BY MAN to control weak minded idiots LIKE YOU. We dragged Christianity into the 21st century by it's f'ing balls. Who put Christianity in line? THE PEOPLE. ESPECIALLY THE ATHEISTS, who got sick of their nonsense and said enough is enough. All religions are terrible, stop defending one of them, it makes you look dumb.

I think it's leftists on foreign policy that show the most moral blindness. In Britain there was a stop the war rally, leftists, where signs were carried saying "We are all Hezbollah now". It is when leftist intellectual Noam Chomsky, thinks George Bush is a terrorist . Or America the biggest terrorist.When I hear things like Dick Cheney is as bad as or worse than any foreign brutal dictator.Leftists make up the Anti War people, dumbly saying innocent people die so war is wrong
bolius1 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo

I'm a soldier, have been for 8 years now, 11b Paratrooper for 6 years, OIF veteran, and I swore to defend the CONSTITUTION.. that thing that reads "SEPERATION FROM CHURCH AND STATE!?" Sam has also pointed out how liberals often do'nt understand the threat from islammic terrorism, and what motivates it. "oh christians have terrorists"Sam once said brilliantly, and I don't recall his exact words, that if a line was added to the quran that red headed women should be beheaded, and we saw bags of heads in Saudi arabia, then somebody would stand up and say "oh this is not to do with islam, look in this state we saw a red headed woman just had her head chopped off"
bolius1 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
I'm on their side because it's the lesser of two evils. Liberals like you are a terrible threat to America. You think for yourselves and mess up completely. I'd rather you had a bible and believed the earth was thousands of years old, at least you could then see the dangers america faces from outside, and identify what is really bad. Instead of seeing faults of Americans with a magnifying glass and minimising far worse evils which you equate with your own society or christians.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 You're obviously a troll, and can't believe I wasted so much time talking to you. You agree with everything liberals stand for (Sticking up for middle-low class, universal healthcare, same sex marriage/unions, stem cell research, abortion etc etc) AND you don't follow any of the christian fundamental beliefs, but then you turn around and call me a "Liberal threat to america". News flash idiot, YOU'RE A LIBERAL! lol. You're obviously just very very very confused lol.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
if people were all secular and had a strong moral compass, then I think it'd be a much better world. Hindu india wants it too.
bolius1 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
I agree with Hitchens on one point,that liberals tend to not hate evil enough.So for many reasons, and they identify the threat of militant islam.I prefer evangelical christians to most liberals.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 Also, ALL religions are evil. You can't cherry pick a couple good lines out of the bible and claim it's a source of good. ALL religions are MAN MADE, divisive, poison. Aside from the fact that just about everything in the bible is historically and scientifically false, it boasts the same oppressive hate-filled nonsense and from your posts, it's clear you understand what is truly moral, and what is not. How can you side with such evil nonsense?? Smarten up please.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
if you were to look at things in 2 sides, then i'd prefer them in power.. because I think America is stronger that way, with a bunch of religious christians who at least on the serious issue of islammic terrorism, can see right from wrong, and who don't try moral equivalence between islam and other religions. Many evangelical christian Americans wish America had a leader like Binyamin Netanyahu, he is not a religious man. My issue with liberals is the same as Sam Harris's.
bolius1 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
i'm not saying the bible is a source for good or bad. there's good and there's bad, but religions have their own ways of treating text, and one line in one text can over-rule a bunch of bad stuff, like a bunch of times it can talk about stoning, but then another line says it doesn't apply. So just taking a text and picking verses you aren't figuring out a religion you're working out your own theology and judging that.. You need to judge religions based on what they are now.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1
and indeed, now, there is some bad, like you say, not allowing civil marriages for gays outside of a church, and them lacking rights, and being flat out against social welfare. Liberals have problems too, wanting social welfare without considering "At What Cost"But there's much good in the religious right, in them identifying the threat. And it's maddening to hear the moral equivalence many liberals like you do. My issue with liberals is the same as Atheist Sam Harris's.
bolius1 8 months ago
In fact, i'll give you a chance to clarify exactly how morally straight you are. Post back that you agree that homosexual marriage should be allowed, that stem cell research and abortion are not immoral, that evolution is fact, and the earth is millions of years old, and I might consider your head not up your ass.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
Homosexual marriage.. in a church, it's up to the church. They have the right to make their rules according to what they believe their religion demands. It's important to them. If they change their religion then that's one thing, but it doesn't threaten people.. and is nothing personal. If people don't like it they'll have to join a different church or don't do it just do a civil marriage. or no marriage at all.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 Most of the US doesn't allow the union of 2 men or 2 women, no matter what (Marriage, union, whatever you call it). They can't even go to courthouse and get wed. The Jesus-based legislation that prevents this is a huge problem. Am I to assume you're fine with gay people getting unified / married and being recognized by the state or federal level? If so you've proven in your last 2 posts that you don't follow ANY of the same evangelical christian beliefs. Your on the wrong side fool.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
My opinion is that there would never have been an infidel, if there had never been a priest. The artificial structures they have built on the purest of all moral systems, for the purpose of deriving from it pence and power, revolts those who think for themselves, and who read in that system only what is really there.
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Mrs. Samuel H. Smith, August, 6, 1816
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
All religion is a poison, Islam, Christianity, Scientology, doesn't matter. If we followed the bible to the letter (Like many Christians wish we did) Homosexuals, children that misbehave, and women who commit adultery would be STONED to death. Slavery, and the mistreatment of slaves, would be allowable. Contempt / disrespect of public officials would warrant DEATH. Rape of captured girls of enemy soldiers in war would be promoted. Christianity is no better then Sharia Law.
Sanosukeafo 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
You being a fool, would still say it's as bad as it was.
bolius1 8 months ago
@bolius1 I never claimed Sharia Law has changed, I'm simply stating that Christianity's ideals are on par with Sharia Law, which the two are VERY similar in the nonsense they promote. Now answer my post I posed to you. It will show if you have your own brain, or if you're a sheep who can't think for himself.

And when the Govt put targets on waiting times(like 18 weeks) other things can/do suffer.
bolius1 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
again, i'm not saying scrap the NHS. but you think you know things that you really don't know, and it's dangerous! you need experience of what you speak of and you lack it.. you can't just look at this like an alien with a calculator and some selected facts, thinking you can solve problems you've not experienced. You're missing reality. If you knew the reality you'd know more correct things and more relevant facts. Like I quoted about the 18 weeks.
bolius1 8 months ago
@Sanosukeafo
Also again u're missing the reality by thinking you can just look at a holy book and see some verses and say Hey the people with these books believing this book are barbarians.It just doesn't work like that. You have to look at what is preached. Slavery is not preached.Look at what is preached and how widespread and how often and how relevant and how the audience react.You have american TV, and it's on youtube. and parts of Arab TV are translated by MEMRI and PMW and on youtube.
bolius1 8 months ago
