Awesome! That Alien was amazing! Aside from the fact that it did a great job within a rather limited footprint (long arms, tail, and big, elongated head), I have to applaud the dancer inside it. I KNOW how hot the rooms at D*C can get, and that costume didn't look like it breathed, much, nor allowed much for seeing or hearing, for that matter. Also, saw a coupla Jayne hats in the room. Browncoats represent! =^[.]^=

The alien was a guy named Garreth from England. He's with the Colonial Marines costuming group. He practiced for many hours in costume to learn the dance!! Its hard enough to learn in normal clothes. I give him lots of credit for his amazing effort. Way to go Garreth!!!

To all of the critics of this video: This was the beginning of a rehearsal and the dance was still being taught. Don't get too judgmental. Don't focus on the crisp movements yet, but take a moment to notice the dedication of all of the individuals involved. It is clear that some of them are NOT dancers, but they have enough heart to work for many hours to get it right.

Lauren has informed me that her video will be up soon, so don't stress! It will be worth the wait, I assure you.

I was one of the team captains/dance teachers/whatever for this event. I mainly taught a LARGE group at the 5:30 rehearsals and was on stage during the first run-through dressed as Mad Max.

I can't explain how very proud I am of everyone! I'm especially thankful to the organizers and my fellow captains. Everybody worked SO hard to pull this off. I feel so honored to have been allowed to take part in this experience. You all really rocked my world and made this my best D*Con yet! Thank you all!

I just want to say that I attended Dragon Con this year for the first time and had no idea how big this thing really is. To anyone watching this, you really have no idea how hard it was to learn this dance. I consider myself a good dancer and had a lot of trouble learning it. Granted I only had about 3 hrs. to practice the sequence of steps before the record attempt. This was so much fun! I was the woman in the wine colored ballgown with red hair up in a pony. (I wore it down when we shot the vid for the actual record) Holy smokes was it hot in there! I was telling my kids how we'd been running through it for over an hour by this point. I'm really impressed watching how everyone was still having fun with it. Record breaking or not, I'm very proud to have been apart of this event. Can't wait to see how we top it next year! Great work getting it all on video!
