You misunderstood. You're supposed to get hit by a move that lets you land on your feet,not on your back. Once you land on your feet, you have unfly mode activated and ready to use.

Well, for Iron Man i am definitely dashing up if Im am close enough for his punches/kicks to connect. Sometimes I dash forward, but I do that mostly for war machine since his attacks come out slower.

from a glitch called "unfly". You just have to get hit once so that iron man flips over and back right side up. Once that is done, you can cancel the up+HP while flying so that you can attack again (you wont be able to otherwise.).

@tomotombo The only time you need to hold a direction + a normal is when you hit HP since it's the only normal that changes based on direction. So, you can hold Up during the whole infinite except with you activate/cancel flight. You'll have to air-dash Up, anyway, and it won't compromise the direction of LK or LP, so it helps to hold Up. The infinite goes: Launch, LK, Up+HP, [air-dash Up, LK, Up+HP, fly, LK, Up+HP, unfly, Up+HP] Repeat what's in the brackets.

i was using that crappy ps2 SF anniversary edition stick. the problem started with the button connectors getting lose. My friend was supposed to fix them for me, but still nothing. I give up, might as well just find a better ps2 stick, but I dont know where to look.

im stuck. after i get hit by a "popup" and land safely, im in unfly mode. so if i were to superjump and hit opponent and then do the fly mode, i wouldnt stay in fly mode? i dont get it.
no, unfly mode is a state that you gain when u get hit by a move that doesn't knock you down on your ass. Then when you do the combo, you should be able to attack after you deactivate flight mode (you nomally can't).

i was paying more attention to this video...you arent using that many button comos at the same time...when i try i always push LP,LK UP+FP then fly and try to repeat that same thing but i can only get 9 hits out of it...
I just realized that america makes the arcade sticks different from japan. I thought everything was made in japan lol. anyway I see that japan makes their arcade sticks with a square imbedded feel to help differentiate top bottom left right . Now i need one cuz my problem was never nowing excatly where down is on a circle based stick, i want da cherry stick lol
for now I use the PS2 SF Anniversary Joystick. It was $50 bucks at gamestop when i got it. Then i bought another one so my friend can come over and play.
use the anolog stick like a fight stick or master the dpad. i got a friend online who kills these ironman combos on a controller lol. im pretty close myself i just dont understand the e fly unfly combos yet lol.

That´s actually not the correct def of unfly... what you said was the requirements for getting a unfly, but unfly is the capability of connect hits after you leave out a fly, oin order that you can cancel the unfly animation with a hit...

it is actually a glitch activated by having them hit you with a move that lets you flip over and land on your feet. Normally when you activate flight mode, attack and then turn off flight mode, you can't do anything else after that. But this unfly thing lets you. However, it has a limit of 4 to 5 reps. Sentinel, Iron Man, and war machine use it the most.
watch it's really something a cartoonist, animator or just very hard core gamer could understand. It's an animation cancel sounds dumb but follow me I just got it today.
On all the fast pace fighting games you can cancel animations and basically loop things or do some out off pattern.
Well this is similar except you arent canceling your move it's the opponents recovering animation. (where the flip upright SO THEY CAN BLOCK)
the unfly activation thing has nothing to do with animation or cancelling, it's a glitch like he said. Move/animation canceling is a different thing, and most people that play fighting games understand it, haha.
I can woop ass in the game im awesome in fighting and shooting cuz i play nothing else (Tekken, stf4, smash bros, power stone, call of duty, blaze blu is better anyway lol) but this fly mode I haven't grasp, just want a new reason to download it again
So if you hit the opponent as they are animating into an upright position then they will remain in fly mode. lol sound a lil better. Now the other part of it is that with ironman you can see him constantly using his hooveer move and you must use that with a cobonation of the light kick (because it keeps u up more) and that's all I know Im looking to get one of these pros to redo a video lol

try air dashing forward to minimize that. I usually do: launch, LP, LK, slight pause, LK, UP+FP, air dash U/F+LK, UP+FP, fly, LK, UP+FP, turn off flight, UP+FP, air dash U//F and so on. For the flight motion I do HCB+KK just in case something like that may happen. To me, it keeps him from moving back too much.

Easiest way to set it up is to launch with FK, jump, LP,LK, small pause, LK, UP+FP, air dash up/forward, LK, UP+FP, fly, LK, UP+FP, turn off fly, up+FP, then air dash, LK, UP+FP, FLY, LK, UP+FP, turn off fly, up+FP, air dash and so on.

sorry for the late response. the finger setup i use is: index finger for LP, thumb on LK, and middle finger resting on fierce punch. I will try and make a video of me recording the button presses when I have time.

Unfly mode is cancelled by a normal jump, in a match, if you have unfly active you must be careful not to normal or else unfly will be cancelled

no, unfly mode is a state that you gain when u get hit by a move that doesn't knock you down on your ass. Then when you do the combo, you should be able to attack after you deactivate flight mode (you nomally can't).

I do some hits, air dash, couple more hits, fly, hit with LK, UP+FP, turn off fly, up+FP, air dash, etc. theres many ways.

yes, because your fingers will be at an awkward position activating the fligth command. Joystick makes that command easier to do.

i was paying more attention to this video...you arent using that many button comos at the same time...when i try i always push LP,LK UP+FP then fly and try to repeat that same thing but i can only get 9 hits out of it...

I just realized that america makes the arcade sticks different from japan. I thought everything was made in japan lol. anyway I see that japan makes their arcade sticks with a square imbedded feel to help differentiate top bottom left right . Now i need one cuz my problem was never nowing excatly where down is on a circle based stick, i want da cherry stick lol

for now I use the PS2 SF Anniversary Joystick. It was $50 bucks at gamestop when i got it. Then i bought another one so my friend can come over and play.

use the anolog stick like a fight stick or master the dpad. i got a friend online who kills these ironman combos on a controller lol. im pretty close myself i just dont understand the e fly unfly combos yet lol.

They are doable on a dpad, but its a pain in the ass. Joysticks make combos easier to do 95% of the time.

So unfly is only activated AFTER you've been hit by a move that flips you over? then you only get 4-5 reps and you must get hit to obtain it again? maybe that's why It never works for me in training mode :p

That´s actually not the correct def of unfly... what you said was the requirements for getting a unfly, but unfly is the capability of connect hits after you leave out a fly, oin order that you can cancel the unfly animation with a hit...

i'm sorry but i'm a huge noob and I don't understand this unfly thing at all... so.. 'unfly mode' isn't even something a person can 'activate' themselves, the opponent is activating it for you when they hit you with a move that doesn't make you land on your back??
And then what?..once you're hit by a move that doesn't land you on your back you're able to access different combos, or what? Sorry, I just can't figure out the whole unfly thing, I never got into this game until now...

it is actually a glitch activated by having them hit you with a move that lets you flip over and land on your feet. Normally when you activate flight mode, attack and then turn off flight mode, you can't do anything else after that. But this unfly thing lets you. However, it has a limit of 4 to 5 reps. Sentinel, Iron Man, and war machine use it the most.

watch it's really something a cartoonist, animator or just very hard core gamer could understand. It's an animation cancel sounds dumb but follow me I just got it today.
On all the fast pace fighting games you can cancel animations and basically loop things or do some out off pattern.
Well this is similar except you arent canceling your move it's the opponents recovering animation. (where the flip upright SO THEY CAN BLOCK)

the unfly activation thing has nothing to do with animation or cancelling, it's a glitch like he said. Move/animation canceling is a different thing, and most people that play fighting games understand it, haha.

So if you hit the opponent as they are animating into an upright position then they will remain in fly mode. lol sound a lil better. Now the other part of it is that with ironman you can see him constantly using his hooveer move and you must use that with a cobonation of the light kick (because it keeps u up more) and that's all I know Im looking to get one of these pros to redo a video lol

try air dashing forward to minimize that. I usually do: launch, LP, LK, slight pause, LK, UP+FP, air dash U/F+LK, UP+FP, fly, LK, UP+FP, turn off flight, UP+FP, air dash U//F and so on. For the flight motion I do HCB+KK just in case something like that may happen. To me, it keeps him from moving back too much.

Easiest way to set it up is to launch with FK, jump, LP,LK, small pause, LK, UP+FP, air dash up/forward, LK, UP+FP, fly, LK, UP+FP, turn off fly, up+FP, then air dash, LK, UP+FP, FLY, LK, UP+FP, turn off fly, up+FP, air dash and so on.

sorry for the late response. the finger setup i use is: index finger for LP, thumb on LK, and middle finger resting on fierce punch. I will try and make a video of me recording the button presses when I have time.
