You can try gently cleaning the eye lids with a wet towel at night and put a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the dry lids to moisturize them. Use only a small portion so as not to irritate the eyes.
use it on your hair not ur eyes, a major irritation to my eyes was dandruff and my bushy (sometimes greasy) hair, shave ur hair really short at least grade 3 and use a good shampoo.
DO NOT USE BABY SHAMPOO!!! it actually makes your eyes more irritated!!!

these techniques made my eyes worse and redder, actively washing really made it bad
try using and anti dandruff shampoo like Head and Shoulders in the shower it worked wonders for me, although it never fully went away
