  • I love this movie and the music, you did a great job, thank you, it's wonderful to listen to this while watching your vid. I would have liked a bit of Julianne Moore ;)

  • Cant believe how great of a job you did on this vid !!!

  • a crafted beauty - a superb movie

  • i must you nicholas hoult! <3

  • Exquisite! You blended the music and the footage beautifully together, but gave it a happier ending than in the original movie. And speaking of movies. IMO this is the movie Colin Firth should have gotten his Oscar for - not The King`s Speech. Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter deserved Oscar for that one. Both of them shone throughout the picture. The same way Firth did in A single Man. A fantastic role and interpretation. But the movie could have been better. More Hoult - less Moore.

  • @Dolphininseaable It is an exquisite movie and original score but I have to agree with you, a little less Moore (and I really love her) and a little more Hoult would have make the film even better. Firth performances are always stunning but I agree, this is the role from which he deserve the oscar and he acknoledwge that more or less in his accepting speech saying that a good part of the oscar was thanks to T. Ford. Firth must have won for "A Single Man" and J. Bridges of "True Grit" xoxox

  • @JJTheTrue (part 2) Ginnifer Goodwin`s character, forinstance - the battered wife, with the polite and charming children, nice and well kept house and husband with a good job. On the outside the ideal happy family life, but in reality a brutal prison. And if her husband beat her in frustration over his own sexual inadequacy - and his deep dark secret was that he was attracted to men - it would make a nice contrast to Firth`s character - showing the consequences of the idealized box thinking.

  • @Dolphininseaable Not a bad word said about Julianne Moore - she is a wonderful actress, but her character in this story a little malplaced and stealing screantime from more important characters, I feel. Sinced the whole movie is about the contradictions between appearences and truth - ideal and reality, great attention to how things looks and seems - not so much to how they feel and really are. Similar victims of that way of thinking, would be more to the point than an alcoholic free spirit.

  • @andruschk123 Thanks so much my friend. Is one of mines too for sure. True, it's a very sad tune but the whole original score is plain gorgeous, so for some reason, I'm not able to conceive the images of the film with any other song or music (for now) I love J. Moore, she's the most gay friendly actress ever, and very talented and generous woman. I just hope that this wouldn't be the last film of Tom Ford. After this masterpiece, he must repeat for sure! Thanks again, dear xxx

  • I have seen this movie more times than I can count and each time I come away with a sence of wonderment and awe. I love everything about "A Sinlge Man" from the opening to the end and never wanted the film to end. The movie and soundtrack are one in a million.

I love all the comments that have been made here, btw!

  • love the movie -love it -love it !!

  • @JJTheTrue YAY! i was RIGHT lol :) thanksss

  • is the teenage looking kid the guy from Skins? i dont know..he looks very similar to the one in the show, Skins.

  • @Twilightroxs84 He is. The name is Nicholas Hoult (aka Tony in Skins)

  • That was so incredibly lovely! You picked my favorite composition from the soundtrack. It was such an important part of the film and the use of this song was what undid me at the end.

  • @darkaura0 Thank you very much! I love Abel's score, and this hauntingly beautiful track kept me freezed and with tears in my eyes throughout the whole movie, everytime I see Tom Ford's awesome masterpiece. A Single Man is problably one of the movies I've seen more times and I will continue watching. So many beauty, layers and aspects of love, life & death. Definitely a too underrated film. If it was the same but with a straight story I'm sure it would been oscar nominated for best picture.

  • I bought this movie after seeing your vid here, JJ (remember those rainboreduser days??)

    I wasn't disappointed!!

What a beautiful film - so seemingly simple in its story, and yet so full of layers that I'll need to watch over and over again to appreciate its subtlety!

What I really loved was the use of colour in the cinematography, so visually portraying those brighter moments we have in an often dull existence!

I think you're one of my brighter people, JJ.

    Sparkly love xx

  • @2304sarah1 Course I remember them honey. Missed them a lot too!

I've seen this jewel a lot of times myself, and I'm always discovering new things about it. It was dismissed by many people for being gay themd, but IMO it's a deep reflexion about love, life, death, fear, teen angst and friendship. I'm agreeing totally with you in the perfect use of color tonalities and the highly romantic and haunting original score. Gorgeous men too. I think I'm gonna see it again this very after-noon xxx

  • @JJTheTrue so much agree with you! made me cry. made me euphoric and ...beauty hasnt effected me this way before. this film is... so true!! god bless TOM FORD!
