This reminds me of something that happened to me when i was in Sri Lanka years ago. We were trying to find out what kind of fish we were eating.

"Lake fish sir",

"Yes, but what kind of lake fish?"

"Lake fish sir"

We just gave up & carried on eating. It was nice fish though :)
