Around 7:00 you can clearly see that Baldwin has no fucking idea what industrial hemp even is. I also love how Baldwin claims that his point of view is "conservative and faith based". Ron Paul is a Christian conservative, but HIS point of view is constitutional and logic based.
Yeah, I'm completely against smoking marijuana. Intoxication is never a healthy things. Impaired judgment and motor skills is never good. Drug abuse, legal or not, is not good. However, can the government regulate personal behavior? And I certainly am just as much against alcohol as I am marijuana. People who criticize marijuana but drink every weekend are HYPOCRITES!
lmao marijuana is not a gateway drug you only make your self choose to do other drugs if you are drinking your are choosen to drink common sence..n plus marijuana is not a drug common sence lmao liquar was illegal bak in the day thats what they doin wit marijuana lol yes it helps saves lifes 420 support all day
Politicians talking about how dangerous cannabis is, can suck my cock! The government sells guns at Wall Mart! WTF? Guns are dangerous and deadly, why the fuck is that legal? Yes of course marijuana is dangerous, but nobody's ever died from marijuana. Cigarettes, alcohol and guns kill millions of people every year.
nicotine, alcohol etc... is bad also, but not because those things are bad and being used, marijuana (that is realy bad for you) needs to be legalised. These things are bad for you and those other things also.
Hemp should be legal and so should marijuana and every other drug. Let people decide for themselves. Doing a drug is a freedom of choice. Abortion is murder and not a matter of freedom of choice.
and i choose to believe him when he says he hasn't.
that point is moot in logic of the debate. i smokes da ganga and i support legalizing only hemp. decriminalize marijuana and let the many states that already have hemp initiatives grow hemp as a staple crop for all the myriad benefits it offers.
smoking dope is a liberty issue but growing hemp is an economic one.
I know Baldwin is political, but he doesn't have a historical background like Ron Paul. I bet Baldwin has done every drug know to man, was "reborn" when he found jesus and kept himself clean.
They actually did a study when I was in high school 17 years ago that cigarettes were a gateway drug that 95% of people who smoked tried at least once something other than cigarettes and alcohol. It's a shame that they call it a debate when you have one half baked actor who believes the drug war propaganda and a very reputable politician like Ron Paul. They couldn't find one credible anti-marijuana representative. There are none, the drug war is a big time failure.
2:36-2:47 ive been smoking weed since i was 16 and ive never done harder drugs and im not addicted to alcohol.... ive only been drunk once and hated it.... no im not addicted to marijuana (its impossible to be) no im not a complete failure at life, that lives on the streets because i smoked a harmless herb... the GATEWAY drug theory is false, its just something used to scare you
It is possible. Smoking it since 16, how old are you now? Seems like an addiction to me. Because something is not true for you does not make it untrue. It is a gateway drug for many people.....I see it everyday at work.
it is only a gateway drug because in order to score some weed, you usually have to go to crack town and mess with very insavory people.. they then take advantage of naive people and push harder drugs on them.. pot by itself is not a gateway drug though. that is a myth.
I agree. I saw an article last month that 20% of biofuel companies will file bankruptcy this year because they are unprofitable. Biofuel is so expensive that even though they are government funded they still cannot make enough profit to stay afloat. Another study was release last month stating that corn biofuel uses 70% more gas energy to make then the amount of energy they produce themselves. It would actually be cheaper to just use 100% gas in our cars.
if you seriously think the banks have no investments in oil company's you have problems.
the oil company's do not want hemp to be legal because it would replace crude with ease. crude is a renewable energy source so yes its cheap but at what cost? war, greed, hate.
Didn't say they didn't also have a stake. I own lots of oil companies...and I'm not afraid of hemp hurting my bottom line one iota.
Are there uses for hemp? Absolutely...but fueling my car isn't one of them. As was stated before, biofuels aren't profitable businesses, even with huge government subsidies. Why don't those evil banks come down on the government for that?
Why would companies with such huge capital reserves be afraid of a new product...especially one they can make themselves?
you seriously believe for one second that there is no influence by major capitol investors in the companies that which they are invested? please. you admit to having a kind of monopoly in oil and then you ask why companies would be afraid of a plant? lol its simple. people would be growing their own fuel thus kicking the fat greedy oil co's off the top of the pyramid of which they "think" they are on.
I think YOU are afraid because deep down you know oil is obsolete and so do we. toolbox4u
Of course they have a say in the direction of the company. So do I when I vote for who sits on the board of directors.
What's utterly ridiculous is the idea that a significant portion of the population(as in more than .001%) of the population,) has the resources to grow a large enough crop of hemp to fuel anything more than one tankful of fuel.
There are plenty of reasons to legalize marijuana and especially hemp. The idea that it can replace oil as a means of energy is not one of them.
bighitter42, we no longer have any need for oil. it is literally being used to kill the human race. we have MANY other technologies that replaced oil a loooong time ago. oil = death.
hemp doesn't need to replace oil but if it did, we would defiantly be producing much more than .001% of our needs.
between electric cars, hydrogen combustion, synthetic lubricants etc etc.. oil is no longer needed. oil is obsolete
oil is not cheap its not efficient its not even good for anything.
You said, "people would be growing their own fuel thus kicking the fat greedy oil co's off the top of the pyramid of which they "think" they are on."
I said extremely few private citizens have the land to grow a sufficient supply of fuel for themselves. And if they did that, growing fuel for oneself would become they're life. Not enough time to be productive other places.
So who WOULD grow the fuel for us? The same giant companies(or at least similar ones,) that provide us with energy now.
My numbers were flawed. They did pay a larger sum than their profit.
I can't see you're logic because it doesn't add up. There are tons of reasons to legalize all cannabis derivatives, including industrial hemp. The idea that we can completely replace "obsolete" oil, with hemp oil, is not one of them. It's patently ridiculous...unless you want to stop growing food as well. Hemp isn't a progression. We've gone further away from hydrocarbons for 150 years. Hydrogen is the next logical step
once again we don't need oil at all. its usefulness has diminished to below 0. any hemp produced at all would be productive more than 0. between electric motors, hydrogen, and renewable energy we can see clearly that oil is obsolete.
I choose record over rhetoric. Especially unfounded rhetoric like that bullshit you just spewed.
If it were useful it would be profitable, and there wouldn't be any reason for the "evil" oil companies to keep it down, because they'd simply adjust their capital investments to include it.
It's not profitable(as a replacement fuel for oil,) so they don't bother with it at all.
Did you really just invent a "usefulness index" just for this argument with me? LOL
As a pharmacist, marijuana does have some powerful medicinal properties. It's therapeutic index is extremely high (meaning you cant overdose on it). It is really only being prescribed to terminally ill patients like cancer & AIDS patients. These people are dying! Who cares about the possible long term effects on the lungs?! They may not live to see next week! As usual, Dr. Paul is right again.
...these guys everyone that gets on phellps is a fucking hypocrite and i'm sorry but listen here especially those who went to college come on now...even more so for those baby boomers out there that are so "mortified" by this get out of here with that and stop lieing to yourselves because at one point in time you were either smoking it or close (way too close) and got some kind of contact...we've all partied in our youthful days just get over seeing a guy in a photo hitting a bong 1 year ago...

Who's career depends on receiving/"treating" as many drug users as possible? Please.
People prone to using cocaine, probably will have used lesser drugs.
There is ZERO reason to assume that people who use/abuse lesser drugs will move to harder drugs because of the lesser drug.
That's like saying alcohol causes gambling addictions, because people addicted to gambling also use alcohol.

did you people know you can make diesel fuel out of hemp
did you know you can make a biodegradeble plastic (breaks down in 10-20 years) out of hemp
did you know every thing you make out of petroelem can be made from hemp
so why is it unlawful
because it is a treat to the oil companys
witch the world bankers most likely own
we need to loose our addiction to oil
hemp should be legal for a number of reasons
AMSSCH 3 years ago
I own oil companies, but I'm not a banker. That's a fucking ridiculous statement.
The amount of hemp that it would take to even touch in any serious way the profits seen by oil companies is unachievable on this earth.
The drug war is promoted by the uneducated/racist/tyrants...not oil companies.
