  • Just checked out your videos, I'm getting the VSG as well. I'm in the beginning stages. I will start classes soon. Which support group are you attending, is it KP?

  • I'm 4 months post op and am going through the hair loss phase. It's horrid. I think I need to check into that Biotin. Thanks for the info and sharing your journey.

  • So happy that you are doing well. My surgery seems so far away. I have to wait until March! Watching your videos encourage me and keep me excited!

  • Hey, you're going to have to change your name pretty soon to SlimBear1960. You are doing great.

  • Bariatric Advantage just came out with a yummy Omega-3 chew. Even though your hair may feel thin, I don't see you and think your hair is falling out...so not noticeable to the untrained eye. I'm right on your heels....

  • I asked my support group last week too and they suggested the same things however they said it could last as long as 12 months. I am vowing not to sweat it. Ugh that's hard because I haven't a lot of hair to begin with and it now looks like straw. I am 22 weeks post op. Thanks

  • I finally got my hair just the way I like it. The length where I can pin it back if I want and the color too. So now it's got all these frizzy pieces sticking out all over. At group they said a lot of people cut their hair short until it stops falling out. Ugh! I started my biotin and Omega 3.

  • look at you girl! u are doing marvelous! keep up the great work!

  • Nice to hear from you. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for commenting.

  • 58 pounds is awesome. you are looking awesome too! i take the biotin from bariatric advantage. i also take the omega 3 chewies. both of those are for hairloss. i think they are working. i thought about nioxin, but my hair stylist suggest not to do it, cuz it will make your hair dry and brittle. if you try the b12, please report back and let me know if it works. i think the biotin is working. thanks for sharing the info from your support group. i love hot and cold tea.

  • Thanks for the info on what you are taking for you hair.

  • Congrats .... and I see a huge change girl good for you...love ya...love rosemary

  • Thanks doll. Nice to have others notice.

  • So how much can you lose with the sleeve,a week, good luck, sorry I though you had the lap band,Sherlita

  • We were told that people with the sleeve lose at about the same rate as those with the gastric bypass surgery if they follow all the rules. Everyone is different as to how fast you lose.

  • Looking good Karen. Why do they say no caffeine? Maybe I just missed it in the video.

  • One reason is because it stimulates your appetite. There may be more reasons.

  • How many fills do you have, i had my 3rd fill and can no longer gulp water,it gets stuck like food,so slow and steady wins the race, good luck,Sherlita

  • I had the verticle sleeve gastrectomy so I don't have to have fills. Slow and steady is the way to win. Good Luck

  • Try Nioxen shampoo and conditioner. I love the stuff! Order it online and do a price compare. They also offer Hair Vitamins. My hair is falling out and I am just a week out. :/

  • Glad to hear you love the Nioxen. I'm going to get some. Thanks

  • You cannot see a difference??? Boy, I do!!! Great job. Thanks for the info, too.

  • Thanks so much. I trust my husband and says I've lost a lot and feel small. I now officially weigh less than the day I got married. :)

  • YOU LOOK GREAT! I can tell a difference in your photos. You should be SO proud of yourself. Especially when you are doing this through some stressful times. Keep it up!

Thanks again for the support group info. I find that I can gulp water a bit - so I have to stop myself. I still find that not drinking with meals is weird. People even notice in restaurants... but I stick with it pretty well. Occasionally, I have to take a small sip with a bite, but not often.

You are an inspiration to me!

  • You are so sweet! I can gulp water too and I don't think that's good on my stomach. I always order water at a restaurant just so I don't look weird. I too take a few sips with my meals now and then. Our Nurse/bariatric patient/group leader says she does too.
