I agree, Graceland is quite small, but I'm sure was considered lavish back in '57 when Elvis bought it. It had a very homey and was actually much more tastefully decorated (sans the jungle room) than I thought. It wasn't a mansion so much as a home. My then 13-year-old son stopped in mid tour, looked at me and said,"This is sad." I agree... the one man who should've been there wasn't.
The minute you drive through the gates of Graceland, theres such a feeling of peace and tranquility .. its surreal. Its really unexplainable. When you walk through the door, you will get chills, it feels like Elvis is still there.
you really can feel his presence in each room, especially the basement tv room and the jungle room. but the upstairs was not open because of the amount of insurance they were asking to let people go up those stairs, and maybe a little out of respect. but more about money.

so i n another words the hosue is not fully exactly how it was on the spot.. the house been re-new the furnitures and everything the carpet moving things around then putting things back to how exactly it was.. but things have been moved over the years... because if they dont.. things will rought over the years and the house will just look like its been used without been clean... so elvis house is not exactly how original was but they put things back to how it was to make it look how it was.
the hosue may look its original state.. but you know if they leave things how it is as it was 1977.. the carpet over the years may become dirty even if the house is clean... Well i wonder how the white carpet and the white couch and the table class set everything all clean and as if it was brand new originaly 1977? unless they replace furniture to new but making the furniture look exactly how it was in 1977 ? just so they dont leave things rought over the years ?
You know if i was to leave everything how it is my house in 2011 and come back 20 years later and see... the hosue may look spider webs.. and the furniture may look alittle roughten over the years... table may not be super clean as it was in 2011 and pretty much everything... because dust and or people comming in and out to look at the house even if they dont touch anything particules do get into everything. So how does graceland house looks like as if everything was clean and new as 1977 ?

Im not particulary crazy about Priscilla...but i do commend her for opening up Graceland and letting everybody have a chance to reminiss with wonderful man..even in his death....thanxs priscillla :)
I was there in 09 too, it was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. I will be back for Elvis week 2012. Wishing my life away, can`t wait to go back to paradise.

there was a tear in the blue fabric on Elvis' pool table when i went there yesterday. The tape they gave us to listen to the history of Elvis said a friend did that way back when but it's not in your picture. lol hmmmm
This song (welcome to my world) reminds me of my visit to Graceland in 2009.....this played as we drove through the gates to Graceland...i can honestly say the emotions were overwhelming and brought a few tears to my eyes as this happened.....i will never ever forget this experience and hope to visit again in the coming years !!!!
my friends older sister dated elvis when he was 14 years old. they grew up with elvis and his family.. they have 11 home movie videos and endless photos the world has never seen to this day.. they are worth millions on the open market but i still can't get her to release them.
