I agree with zbytek. you should put a spring mechanism on the trigger. If you made this from scrach it should not be a problem for you. It will also improve your muzzle velocity/accuracy.

Look into using a solenoid valve for a water sprinkler. A little simple wiring and you can just hit a button/flip a switch instead of using a ball valve. It'll look cooler ;)

Cool. you van use a water sprinkler valve with a 9 volt batteyr a momentary switch as a trigger to fire your weapon with one finger just like a rifle. The sprinkler valve will dump all the air at once like your ball valve.

@tanmanwooden well i built stuff similar to this and once the pump gets hard to pump you should stop i have had one explode it doesnt blow up it just shoots the cap off or shoots the bullet but if you want psi i think you can buy pvc psi thing built into a pipe that costs around 30 dollars in aus and 20 in america

things that would help this- get a real scope and get scope mounts get a smaller barrel(like get a airsoft sniper rifle barrel and convert it into the barrel you have now(it should have studs around the barrel itself)) and get 22 caliber slugs for ammunition for the barrel and there you go you have yourself a way stronger and deadlyer rifle

Good Job dude. But the "Trigger" is kinda inefficient. When u "pull" it, ur weapon shakes....

Try to build a real trigger, that opens the valve (maybe closed by a spring or sth). Its very easy to get this realized ^^

consider upgrading to a modified sprinkler valve for your trigger. its practically the same type of valve used in real air rifles, much faster release of air = higher velocity. for info on how to modify one to work, google modified sprinkler valve, spud gun, etc. or just look it up here on youtube.
