  • yay your playing viola, not a very popular instrument. can you please give me some tips on vibrato?

  • Isn't there more than what you played, if I recall correctly isn't there a part that changes to the key of Eb major? Very good video though I would love to hear the other part

  • Sooo good!!!! I don't play a string instrument(except for the guitar) but I play clarinet. But anyway. You're REALLY GOOD(:

  • wow this is good i hope i can play that in a music competition in march cause i play vioplin too

  • I used to love playing this on my viola, but I lost the sheet music :(

  • I,m learning the violin but I love to hear you. It motivates me cause you play beautifully

  • Thank you so much for posting it on youtube. It helps me son a lot.

  • Sure thing. Thanks for watching.

  • wow man ur very good! i picked up this solo to play for a test in school and its pretty hard....are u a viola? cause if ur a violin how come ur tone is low? i play this on my violin and its tone is a higher pitch same but higher? im confused did i get the right piece?

  • I'm playing viola. Good luck on this piece. Thanks for watching.

  • i have to play this song for my solo in 2 days and i can't get the shifting right for viola on measure 17 were you go to fourth finger E it is kinda complicated and really challenging!

  • This is a tricky finger placement. When practicing, isolate this motion. Repeat m. 16 and only the first note of m. 17 (E) until this placement feels easy.

  • hmmm.. it might be easier if u do it by hearing thats what i do in every song before i buy the book :D

  • hey, i just wanna confirm, are the sheets for viola and violin the same?

  • The music is the same, but in different keys. For violin it's in G major, for viola, C major. The fingerings and bowings are all the same.

  • this song is sooo hard i have to play it 4 my solo in 2 weeks im only in chamber and im still getting use to the f naturals any advice?????

  • By the time you get to this piece, you should already be comfortable with the low 2nd finger. Review Bohemian Folk Song and Etude. In Etude, pay particular attention to m. 2(first four notes), m. 3, first ending (first four notes). These are the most difficult settings for the low 2. Once Bohemian and Etude are easy, review Minuets 1 and 2. Sorry to suggest such an intensive review, but you should have solved the low 2 issue before beginning Minuet 3.

  • In general, one needs to completely master each of these pieces before moving to the next. By "master", I mean be able to play through from memory with good intonation, rhythm and tone quality and without mistakes. The reason for this is that each piece introduces new difficulties. You want to avoid having to constantly fix old problems while being introduced to new ones. Good luck.

  • Im glad I could hear this. This song is on the list of a few songs my teacher gave me to play for S&E, and I like this one best.

  • Good luck with this piece. Let me know how S&E goes.

  • @Bratschenmeister thanks.

  • Thanks for posting all these videos. I was too cheap to buy the cd at the beginning of the book and now that my daughter is near the end I really don't want to buy it, but she needs to hear how it is supposed to sound.

  • You're welcome. I'm glad if my videos help your daughter learn these pieces. I would reconsider buying the CD. The CD is great because you can listen to it in the background (in the car, a mealtimes, while reading or playing games etc.). The CD is designed to be used in this way. Students should listen to these pieces many times before learning to play them. Watching my videos should only supplement the CD.

  • Thanks for posting this! Watching this really helps me when I practice! (:

  • You're welcome. I'm glad I could help. Good luck!

  • cool i have been practicing this song it a bit hard
