  • That's my mom on the right!

  • This reminds me of Will Smith and the Fresh Prince LOL

  • I'm not a christian but I grew up in a christian household and listened to almost every dc talk song until I couldn't forget a lyric. Hell, I still can.

  • I can't help but smile when i watch this video

  • Man, I love this song! =)

  • If tupac or biggie or dre or any other good rapper saw this. They would kill someone

  • i have that on VHS did they convert that into DVD

  • I have this music video and a couple others on a DC Talk video called Rap, Rock & Soul.

  • Toby Mac and Michael Tate... Haha

  • DC Talk, please come back!!!

  • Here is a fantastic music video that the Christian world will love! It's called "Don't forget about the walk." It was written and created by a small town pastor that is also making a feature film and has written four books. You don't want to miss it! You can go to his website by going to alanmakimusicDOTcom and seeing his music video on the media tab or search for Alan Maki on youtube or Godtube. It would only take a second to look. Show some support! He has wonderful devotionals and an app too!

  • I love DC Talk

  • probably the stupidest song in the history of the world... I am embarrassed to admit that I *might* have purchase this tripe about 20 years ago... GROSS...

  • Haha weird vid!! Maybe some music of this time isn't that bad when you compare it to this xD

  • gay.....i mean not gay cuz its gay just dat its the werdest music vid i ever seen

  • @stricker1eagle500 It's gay because it's happy.

  • I am both ashamed and gloriously happy I was born in the 90's. Oh how I love DC Talk!

  • @oregonmilitiaman I was born in the 70's and I still like it!!!(thou it was the last year of the 70's :D )

  • ah yes the 90s! a time when u could be completely playful and it wasn't scorned. lol this is EARRRRRRRRRRRRLY dc Talk stuff lol I wonder if toby looks back and cringes xD but hey! the message is in there, it's a testimony if u listen carefully.

  • when do they start slapping whores and firing semis

  • @Joerexia this is a Christian vid... either get with it or believe... one or the other...

  • even Jesus hates this

  • i am sure this would impress an omnipotent all power god. Mother goose rhymes and a drum machine marketed to sheltered brain washed middle class white children? He works in mysterious ways

  • I remember this song in my teens... I used to like DC Talk... Now I don't like this music anymore... but it brings me memories...

  • DC Talk went hard in the motha fuckin paint

  • Comment removed

  • by far the best song on the carter IV

  • I love you toby mac

  • Love it! Tobymac and the boys Rock!

  • wow!

  • oh my gosh.

  • You know, this is about how light-hearted and innocent as you could ask for in Christian music, and yet pseudo-intellectuals wage their religious wars even here... how old are these guys, anyways? Also, you don't see Christians calling anti-religious music "drivel," despite the vast majority of both categories practically reducing to masturbation... DC Talk was one of the few Christian bands that WASN'T drivel. Go listen to their late Rock stuff, it's incredible. Respect!

  • Very funny:)

  • Haha! This brings me back! I owned all their albums!

  • Lol this is freakin great!! I love dc talj...oh and rap music...its sittin on the top o my list!!!

  • I am always amused by the variety of comments for these kinds of videos. I like the video, reminds me a little of Fresh Prince of Bel Air. The music isn't bad, though not my favorite style. I think it's cool that there is christian music in so many genres so there is a better chance of someone hearing and enjoying it. And I won't say bad things about the people who hate this song because it talks about God, at least you are hearing about God. That's the point of songs like this.

  • I love how one of the suggestions from this video is an Insane Clown Posse song.

  • IF SOMEONE LIKES A SONG: WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO INSULT THEIR GOD? WHY BOTHER TAKING IT TO THAT LEVEL? IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT OR YOU DON'T BELEIVE IN IT THEN LEAVE IT ALONE AND GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS.

  • how old is this?

  • @evilvideo1 Says in the info, it was made in '91

  • Wow this took me back

  • @lukewind30 YOU SUCK!!!

  • your opinion is irrelavant. only God's opinion matters.

  • "We think the Beatles were weird"

    What. The. Fuck.

  • toby mac..:DD

  • Honestly, I wish that video of that kid rapping to nu thang never surfaced. Now fans of DC talk's music gotta deal with comments from people who don't have a clue about what they're talking about.

  • @steveles87 no idiot, some of us have always known the music is christian drivel. and now your stupid favorite godwad shit is getting made fun of because the type of fans of your stupid christ tunes are exposed like the kid in the video. the band was an indefensible corporate image shill that dramatically changed several times unabashedly to sell jesus to little kids... other fans of the music are idiots who have convinced themselves it's a real band and not a mouthpiece for some jesus, inc. BS

  • @cbn620 IGNORANCE, This comment is full of it.

  • @LetOurLittleLadyTalk let me guess you're christian and you like this music and you are experiencing cognitive dissonance fuck you and fuck your nonexistent god

  • @cbn620 Hey calm it down man. Why would you go onto music that you don't like anyway just to troll about an entire religion? Obviously this music video is a joke, if you couldn't tell already, but what is the point of going on to a christian video just so you can bag on someones religion? I guarantee, you probably wouldn't have the balls to do it in real life, so why do it here?

  • @BLane418 this video was nowhere near a joke when it was spawned in a christian marketing meeting back in 1991. as for why or more how i got here this was a related video to that video that surfaced of the kid singing this song on cable access TV. I remember people actually liking and more importantly buying into the image this music was selling back when I was young and dumb enough to be forced into church. I do hate religion in real life by the way, it's called conviction.

  • this is fucked ! although i still enjoyed it for some reason

  • Dear God DC Talk was awful....please don't tell me they are still polluting the world with their mediocre superstitious music.

  • @lukewind30 It's funny how you looked for the song to say that. If you don't enjoy it, don't listen to it. It only makes you sound like a big douche bag.

  • Gay Nigger

  • This is so gay lol

  • this song is a parody of itself. like esher's hand drawing the hand.

  • HAHA flava flav aint got nuttin on these guys ;) i grew up with these guys this is one of the first vids i ever saw and hey there thoughtcrime84 you sayin there is something wrong with carman he was one of the greatest gospel rock singers in his day geez i forgot how old school these guys are lol I LOVE GOD AND ANYONE WHO READS THIS

  • @complicate888 Flava Flav aint got nuttin on these guys? Are you kidding me? Public Enemey destroys DC Talk. DC Talk is a joke. They are like the Weird Al of "rap."

  • @IncentiveBeats i wouldnt expect you to understand unless i or another God fearing individual sat down and talked with you and yea he aint got nothin on these guys and we'll see who's joking when your spending the rest of eternity with lucifer in the lake of fire so you can diss the band and you can diss the message (and weird al really thats the lamest i ever heard) but we will see who gets the final diss at the end of times when we're judged by GOD ALMIGHTY I hope GOD has pity for your soul

  • @complicate888 Listen up, I grew up going to these Christian music festivals every single year. My father is the coordinator for one, and as a result I got to meet and hang with all these guys from DC Talk, Newsboys, Petra, etc., Let me tell you something- it's all fake. The Christian music industry sells an image like any other major music industry, and drugs and sex play a prevalent role in the "behind-the-scenes" life of these Christian artists. Get over it, yo.

  • @IncentiveBeats o yea well i grew up goin to them to BUDDY so which one did your father coordinate since you only said "one of them" should be more specific people might think your full of it :) and yea i have met them all as well especially newsboys Got to hang out with frankenstein and phil joel on multiple occasions

and by the way douche bag i am a MAN OF GOD and i still mess up so does every one else so why judge them that is Gods job so GET OVER IT< YO

  • @complicate888 Alive Christian Music Festival in Canal Fulton, Ohio. I went to every one from '88 until 2003 when I stopped going. Michael Tait even came in my trailer once. I was sick with the flu and stuck in my Dad's camper, and be brought Michael Tait to see me before the DC Talk show because I was going to miss it. He gave me a Supertones T-shirt. What else would you like to know?

  • @complicate888 Oh, and I have no problems with recreational drug use as long as the individual is not harming anyone else. What I do have a problem with is telling people drug use and pre-martial sex are wrong, but indulging in it behind closed doors.

  • @IncentiveBeats Funny, I worked in college radio for about eight years, and I got a chance to meet a lot of these guys - Switchfoot, Jars of Clay, Five Iron Frenzy. Some bands might have been fake, but many of them were just like the rest of us - flawed human beings, sure, but trying to do the right thing for the most part.

  • WORD!

  • Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

  • why he talkin shit on the beatles

  • @fourwordletter15 yall need to get your stuff straight just cause he says one line sayin our generation generally thinks the beatles music was thrown off does NOT in anyway mean he was talkin smack so cool your jets and learn basic comprehension skills

  • @complicate888 cool your jets broo haha you need to learn how to speak man

  • @fourwordletter15 He wasn't talking shit about the Beatles, he said they were wierd to him. I think Marilyn Manson is wierd, but I don't dislike him.

  • does he say "big black hos"

  • @sevenxviii no, he said big black Olds

  • @garfield4jc5028 big black olds mobile

  • I remember a camp counselor making us lil snotnoses listen to this about 100 times one summer.

at least If I ever go under for surgery, I wont come out singing "tell me whoooos in the hooooouse? JC!". it'd either be this or "STOMP!!!!" lol

  • ROFL this is awesome xD

  • Everything about this video is so ill-advised!

  • Aol recently put the 100 worst songs of all time this was not on the the list only because its sooo bad its in a different category of bad!

  • LMAO!!!

  • i hate these fuckin douchebags

  • not a fan.

  • very good!!!

  • wow is this racist? or just necrophiliac?

  • @wiccamoon13 neither -_-

  • @wiccamoon13 where do you get necrophiliac from?!!?!

  • @wiccamoon13 yes totally racist with white and blacks both in the video lmao

  • At 1:00, I thought he said "big black hoes"....lol

  • @apocalypsynch he says big black olds and michael tait echoes with mobiles so big black oldsmobiles

  • hahahaha like this video

  • crazy but cool great

  • This is REAL dc Talk... before they sold out and went commercial after and during the Jesus Freak era.

  • I believe that God doesn't have preference as to what genre of music it is as long as it praises His name. Psalm 33:3 "Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise." And psalm 96:1-4 says "O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth. 2 Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. 3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people."

  • @PBoyB2010 Amen

  • what is toby wearing??? he certainly grew up in fashion sense....:)

  • This song is honestly, and I'm NOT joking... the worst song I have ever heard in my entire life. Everything about it is horrid. If you don't understand that, good luck to you. BTW the Beatles aren't weird. They're musical pioneers, and genius'. These guys are weird.

  • i love this tune! i lurvee rap muuuusic! xD

  • This sounds like the Christian version of Parents just don't understand. I'm glad they transcended this and put out a classic like Jesus freak.

  • @Msumner316 this is more of a classic you dont find any true DC Talk fans that dont love this song and quite a few others that are same basic type like luv is a verb I dont want it etc so think before you speak and if you dont like it dont listen to it that simple

  • Geez! 20 years ago. Their style is completely different now. =)

  • "i love rap music. I always have and i always will."

... If only they had seen what it has become today :(

  • Great conversation. How about you stop over-spiritualizing everything and just enjoy the nostalgia or the music for what it is? Not every moment can be spent in prayer, or whatever it is you think we should be doing with 100% of our time.

  • were they christian genre at this time?

  • @threedayswaste DC Talk's always been christian.

  • this song is the Fresh Prince style

  • @spankMAbooTAY Actually it means Decent Christian Talk

  • Comment removed

  • I wore this 'tape' out when I was 10 years old. lol

  • @spankMAbooTAY “DC Talk” was a nickname that Toby Mac was given for being from the Washington D.C. area.

  • Wow so old school! lol

  • Comment removed

  • @AndyRespire where do you get that from man i have a question is it bliss.......................ignorance i mean, thats what they say ignorance is bliss

  • AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • DC Talk's I Luv Rap Music sounds like DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's Parents Just Don't Understand

  • Well I don't know whether to laugh or to cry or to shake my groove thang

  • lol yeah they had mad fun making this video

  • the guy in the beginning sound like will smith.

  • Toby Mac is the one who is doing the rapping. Mike and Kevin are the main singers

  • My mom is one of the girls in this video :P

  • this is so a christian song you fruits it has a message it talk about how other rappers swear and talk about sex and drugs and i hate it how when a christian band does one fun song and the world has to judge them

  • I love this song I love this Band I love there outfits I love there Dancing

  • 80's rap / pop

  • Seeing this video makes me happy.

  • i like this song but it`s not really not that rappy. it`s more pop.

  • lol, I used to quite like this band, my sister was a strong christian and she was worried about me listening to hiphop in the early 90's so she got me some christian hiphop, I think the best group I heard was SFC, they sounded up to date with the hiphop of the time, this is awful lol

  • Awww... Toby sounded so cute!

  • @MADgirl1995 Lol, how old do you think he is? I swear, I heard his voice crack...

  • @JinxSharpieMarkers The song came out in 1991 (I wasn't even born yet XD) So... He must be 27 back then. :P I still think it's cute. ^_^ The crack in his voice only makes it cuter! :P BTW: He's coming to my country to join the biggest Christian event in Europe this year (Juni 4th)!!!!!!! He's going too perform old and new songs! ^^ Can't wait! XD

  • Ahh, this brings back such good memories.

  • toby is the blue one

  • Hey I'm the 47,000th viewer. Man I remember this song from 6th grade. Ahhhh the 90s.

  • this isnt chrisitian....they were obviously fucking wasted when they did this...youd have to be to be in this sort of shit

  • @NonPointRulz101 Michael Tait joined up with Newsboys a while back... and if you have any doubts about them being christian I suggest you go see them in concert. They are second only to Jesus Culture in my opinion.

  • pretty cool i luv rap tobymac rocks

  • I HATE RAP MUSIC! THIS is the CLOSEST I COME to it.

  • you ever look back at some old pics of yourself and go what was i thinkin? i wonder if dc talk looks back at this and asks themselves that question. this is the best worst video i've ever seen lol. i miss the 90's but sorry... i've never done the rap thing... grunge for me! but dc talk is still AWESOME!!! we need a reunion!

  • @militiaad Tait is in the Newsboys. Toby is a successful solo singer. K-Max seems uninterested. dc Talk are DONE!

  • WOW I forgot how dorky these guys were at the beginning

  • i luv 90´s

  • lolz funny

  • totally cool!! it'z gt a nyc tune n groove 2 it!! rock on gyz!!

  • I didn't know Toby Mac had a black mom with a mustache, lol.

  • retardation

  • Ahahahaha, Christian music is so hilarious. Especially Christian music (c) 1990.

  • I'm sorry but this is hilarious i bet it was heard for them wear those clothes =P

  • I hate that someone said "I love CHRISTIAN music" below. LAME. Music isn't Christian or "secular," it is simply good or bad music. Good or bad meaning quality or trash. If we're creating, we're glorifying G-d in some way because we're reflecting Him, and He's a creator.

Don't put yourself in a bubble, away from the world. You'll miss a lot of beautiful things.

Try Common Market, Blue Scholars, Victor Shade, or the Flobots. None of these are "Christian," but they've got God all over their art

  • @mason0412 I Don't agree

  • dry.

  • It so reminds me of the music style of the theme song of Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I wish I was born sooner to be in the 90's, seems like a heck of a better decade than now :P

  • i find it so funny that what they're wearing used to be "cool" to wear. it's embarrassing. hahah

    ohh i miss this band

  • from here to jesus freak?

  • Toby needs to keep the hat on back then in the day... b/c his hair mullet thing is lame.

  • "I HATE rap music!...." is what I'd like to hear nowadays. Just like "dontbeinlov" said, all it talks about now is drugs and money and worldy things. "I LOVE Christian Rap Music" would better work here..

  • I had no idea wearing pyjamas in public was cool in the 90's :)

  • hahaha i remember my older sisters being obsessed with these guys. walking past their room i would always hear this music.

  • I swear I saw Will Smith lol

  • @coltonte3 ha ha ha

  • Its like a White Mc Hammer music video...=)

  • the 90's were great!

  • back when you could have fun with rap. now its all try hard and serious lol

  • this is some what peculiar among their other songs... so make ur own videos or music.. or simply shut up....
