@Rlotpir1972 Correct, the car was in an accident with a deer many years ago and the front grill was replaced. The bug shield and fog lights that were installed on it were also removed after that.

i love your cars color... i may change mine very soon but it is the original... ur car looks in mint condition... mine is as well... i also own a 79 cougar xr7... i have only 89,800 miles and proud of it... my car was garage kept for quite a while... if u see my video it says to buy but i doubt i would sell it i realize how much i love it when i see these videos lol...

My grandfather bought it the year it came out and still has it to this day. Although, the paint is fading and spots are showing up.

dude if you can find one put a 429 cobra jet in it i did it with my 79 t bird except i put a tunnel ram and a blower but still its crazy fast with a 429 cj

mines a sky blue 79 xr7 except i have the xr7 hub caps..... It's cool Mine also has a 78 lincoln 460 under the hood with a C-6 trans..... Mine is in awsome shape except i need a new back bumper......Don't ask..LOL

That is the identical car to my first car, back in 1991. I totaled it. I have been looking for one with that color combination in good shape for a long time, they are hard to come by now... They were great cars. I still own it's replacement, a black 1979 XR-7. Only really comes out in nice weather.

nope fox platform was introduced in 78 with the ford fairmont

But this is not a fox body car this is based on the torino platform. The 1980 mercury cougar xr7 was based on a stretched panther version of the fox.
