It's bands like this that has kept country music on the radio. At no point in my life have I ever been taught that being country is keeping to a certain sound or look or even place to live. I was taught that its a life style. If you don't like Rascal Flatts don't listen to them. They have stamped their name into country music and they do deserve to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Even Vince Gill has the utmost respect for this band...If he says they are country, in my opinion, they are.

As with all music....it changes over time. Yes, the newer artists don't sound like Patsy Cline or Little Jimmy Dickens....but they are still VERY TALENTED COUNTRY musicians. The newer artists ARE the FUTURE of country music and must be incorporated into the Grand Ole Opry for it's longevity. I love the newer artists and feel their music is more relevant to today's world. Congratulations Rascal Flatts!!!

Can't believe they let these "artists" stand in THE CIRCLE much less put them in a club with people like Patsy, Faron, Loretta, and George. Hank Williams wasn't even ever reinstated. If they wanted a new member why not put him back in? Maybe Buck Owens? Or if they wanted an active artist and a band how about the Dixie Chicks, who were actually Country. But no Country disowned them in favor of this. It's a sad day when even the Opry is being swept in the rest of Country Music's self destruction.

Just because Rascal Flatts does not sing about getting drunk every night, a cheating wife and football.. does not make them any less country. This is way overdue. They truly are one of the greatest country bands EVER. Gary's voice is natural God-given talent and the three of them together is music history. All of you who are posting negative comments... rattle me this. How can they be they be "awful" when they are the most awarded group in Country Music HISTORY, sells out arenas year after year and obviously GREAT enough to be asked to become member of the Opry? Go waste your time somewhere else.

I remember seeing R.F. the first time in Charlotte,NC when they opened for Alan Jackson it was in '93. I wasn't that much of a fan of theirs until I saw them live...after that, I was hooked. If you ever get to see them live, I highly recommend it!
