Great review! I know this camera has a 24p film output. Does it also have the capability of regular camcorder and/or documentary style videos? 30p or 60i? If I will spend that much; I want to be able to do multiple aspects of production with it. Is there any other product you will recommend to achieve that with all good features of FX1...

still a great camera. Fit it with a Focus Enhancements FS-5 and you film right to hard drive whether it's an MPEG or Mov file you need. Love the depth I get in this 3 chip camera that I can't get in some of my more expensive cameras.

Hi there, I've used this camera for over 3 years for videography for the one thing I can't figure our is how to turn the AE (Auto Exposure) off. I've tried the lock mode and the manual mode and still does it. It's a great feature but some indoor shooting would work better if the AE wouldn't change. I really would like to get in contact with anyone who owns this model and knows it well.

The only knock I have on my FX 1 is the single plug audio, I like having two channels for audio, so you can run boom and wireless at the same time without camera noise...

You retard, It's near impossible to spot. Interlaced means that each frame is made up of two fields. First the odd lines are drawn (field 1) and then the even lines are filled in (field 2). The improved method is a full progression, which is only made because it works more efficiently. Apart from that there is not much difference.

I just bought a Canon XH-A1 it costed me $5800 AUD. It is 1080i. How could 1080i be shit when its on 6000 dollar cameras, it wouldn't make sense. Yeah sure there is a difference between progressive and interlaced but interlaced is still amazing.

@Brodzy123 1080i :) im not saying interlaced is shit, its just not as good as progressive. 1080i does still look amazing, but the cost doesent mean anything for that matter. also, if you would be filming with your camera for Television then the only way to go would be interlaced.

@JaksProductions If you render an interlaced video right, you can't notice the lines. TV is interlaced. Interlacing is the standard broadcast mode for NTSC TV. You don't notice the lines when youre watching tv do you?

I have a sony hdrfx1000, i know its different, but omg im so pissed, can someone help me? I am trying to import tape footage on my mac pro desktop. And i got a 4 to 6 pin firewire, but for some reason the usb part pluggin into the Computer wont fit in. but the part going into the camera fits inside my cameras firewire port :( PLZ HELP

u need one that has 6 to 6 pin or 4 to 4 pin - which ever fits .

thats because you are trying to use the udb port, you need an ie1334 import on your computer. which the macs should have but if yours doesnt you will need to buy one
