Besides, why would they put tomatoe sauce when the food is a take-away? That ruined the hot food...it won't taste as good more soggy like. Sorry but this video doesn't do "fish-and-chips" any justice. Aint no "real food" more like crappy food. I love Scotland though!

I moved to Florida 2 years ago from sunny Glasgow, there isn't much that could drag me back home... but a deep fried pizza??? Christ, I'd walk all the way for one!
Sunny Glasgow ? huh ? it's a long walk my friend, I sure miss the auld chippie, but when I left Scotland most of the chippies were owned and operated by the Italian's,,,oh how they could deep fry,,,,brilliant.
And back then ( mid 60's ) it was fish, pies, black puddings, penny onions and cheap brown sauce ( Christ I'm drooling ).
And of course everything was fried in rendered fat,,,,oh delicious, and nobody telling you how bad it was for you,,,Florida,,golf, great.
Grease is grease? Come on, North America in known for selling bacon with the highest fat content anywhere in the world.
As for fish and chips - I have to agree, the Brits do have us well and truly beaten on that one.
I think one reason you find better food establishments in Europe is because most are family run mom and pop operations. Here we do tend to go down the franchise road.
I used to shelter in this fish and chip when I was an apprentice joiner with William Dicks of Auchtermuchty in 1962/3. The bus stop to Kirkcaldy was about 50 yds away and it was cold in the winter of 1962/3. The Valentes very well known for the quality and quantity of their fish suppers and later won many awards for their products.The Valentes were VERY popular in Muchty and Kirkcaldy where they also had fish and chip shops on Overton Road. They were very kind to us kids from poor families.

The only downside is that their portions of chips are a little on the small side compared to other chippys but what they may lack in size, they more than compensate in taste. :)
If you are ever passing through 'Muchty and they are open, well worth a visit.

I'm actually a healthy eather and don't go to the chippy that often, but when i'm in the mood for one- a fried pizza supper drowning in chippy sauce is the best thing ever!
I used to work in there when I was 16, and I have never (since) worked in a place cleaner/tidier etc. It was like a Military Regime in there. Karlena and Mrs Dick run a bloody tight ship, I would suggest your guts were playing you up!
