Zombies performance in Bunny Lake is Missing

I didn't know about this movie until I started looking up info on The Zombies. I watched the movie on a website and expected a classic after seeing the names associated with the film: Otto Preminger, John Mortimer, and Laurence Olivier.

The premise was good but the acting by Lynley and Dullea is so bad, like an impending train wreck it's hard to avert your eyes. The ending is disappointing as well, it feels like Mortimer had a deadline and didn't know how to wrap it up.

Silly movie. Carol Linley and Keir Dullea were beyond annoying, but I watched 'til the end. I have to say the Zombies' songs were the real highlight for me. Anyone know if if Chrissie Hynde's "Hampstead nursery" line in the Pretenders' song "Middle of the Road" is a reference to this movie? What is a Hampstead nursery, anyway? HEY!! Anybody out there?!?!?!?!
