I'm not sure what Califone does, but I play (relative to a capo 2nd) barre B (7th fret), barre F#m, barre A, and first position E.

@thecosmosisfake what he actually plays based on sounds is either of these:

you can tune everything down a half step and then the play F shaped barr chord on 7th, F shape barr on 2nd, F shape barr on 5th, then simple E chord. all that just repeats

or you can tune to Open E and tune that a half step down and then you just baring the first 3 bass strings 777000, 222000, 555000, 000000 and repeat.

for both you play the first 3 bass strings and then ocasional hit the 4/5th string.
