I preffered this movie to AVP 1...but as a movie it's much worse. The violence was frequent which was nice considering all we got in the last movie was green blood, which just doesn't work for an AVP movie, and the series nods were nice, but the film was ruined by poor story, acting, cardboard characters, fighting and costume design for the aliens.

you know you're right and it could have been a whole lot better, the best parts in the movie for me where with the predator "hunting" using the disks and the classic spear, and it was good they add some other exotic weapons like the whip and I think they would have been better off if they used the original script from 1993 or so with based on the old avp arcade game.

A clean slate comes at a great cost sometimes. I think thats what this movie wanted, a clean slate. fresh faces and a new story. I wouldn't call the movie horrible. I wouldn't call it great either. it was obvious to me that the aliens and predator were more important than the humans. thats probably why the humans were under developed characters. No one cares about the humans.. you don't go to avp to watch the humans!
