I was there. I saw and I learned. I added to my skill set. Just to be clear, there will always be the "what if" bunch. If you show how to do one thing they want to say "what if" this or that is done. Intelligent people just have to ignore them altogether. Here's a thought though, "what if" all them were rounded up turned face toward the ocean and we got to kick them steel toe boot in their asses. Now that would be awesome...
i love doing this at Aikido is so simple and usually always affective well demonstrated to cheers great video there is so many that lack reality a little
ous! these guys are the real deal i have old footage of grandmaster phillp form the sanuces ryu series..am glad to see there still doing it..sensei kenneth brooklyn ny
Sport fighters always say you will not be fast enough to dodge a punch or block one. They are wrong. I have fought on the street many times. Most of the time it was not my choice. It is not so much a matter of speed; but positioning, distnace, coverage, and blocking. I prove this to MMA guys at my class when they ask.
Absolutely.. couldn't agree with you more. It's not that difficult to tell when you're going to be swung at, so being fast enough is certainly not the case. I'm experienced as well.. and generally speaking, anything after the first couple swings, are just LUNCH to a train martial artist. MMA = sport.. soon as you're overpowered, you'll get hurt.
well I work in the police force and I have used this tech several times and it works. MMA BJJ and similar work in the ring, but not in the street. I have witnessed hundreds of fights and participated in many in work situations. Try to do a side hold when the assailant bites you (remember Holyfield).
well daughte y dont u try grtting in a street fight and tryn ur cute little move and see how that works out coz i can tell u right now ur not fast enough 2 dodge a punch 2 pull crap like that off
This technique is very effective, and even as a drill. My own opinion is that after the 1st block i would have used several strikes, then the throw. Why would i try to get into a streetfight? Civilized, and Disciplined individuals, don't fight on the street.
It's not only that. I'm studying nursing so I'm busy. Believe me. If I could be there I would. Martial arts is one of my passions but I can't drop school.

THANK YOU!! I'm training to be a CO, and would NEVER train MMA to defend myself. As soon as you're overpowered, that shit goes out the damn window.
