Must we have the Android vs Apple debate on every iPhone related video? This is a great new feature and a useful advance towards the future. It doesn't matter what device it is on. For the record, Google voice search on Android is also pretty neat.
It's like the computer in the Star Trek series, the only thing missing is the voice. I absolutely love it. Once I saw Siri in action I had to have it (sold my iphone 4 for $100). I can see in another 20 years or so voice command is what we will use for most computer activities where manual control is not a requirement.
@IMAGIMATIONanimation I don't like it? I've been using it for years on Android. Only difference is, on Android it works much better. I say this because my friends new iPhone 4S with Siri (that he praises so much) can't even compute half of what my Android with Voice Action + can. Try a Voice Action + port on your iPhone - Siri is similar to it except it works better than Siri.
I don't know. . . A lot of videos on youtube show that android voice commands don't work as well as Siri, or have as many functions. If Android already had a superior feature, you would think that it would have generated more buzz.
@IMAGIMATIONanimation For one, people compare Siri to Voice Commands on Android (it's not a personal assistance type). Android DO have personal assistance services which MOST do not know about or even heard of, until Siri. Voice Command is different from Voice Action Plus, Vlingo, etc. for Android. And two, Steve Job is a master at marketing - he can take something very simple (or existing), over-hype it & the media jumps all over it. Unlike Apple, Google don't over-hype and advertise like hell.
Here is the difference though - Siri, and Voice commands come default on their respective platforms, so out of the box, the iPhone has superior voice recognition capability.
But, if you want to talk about third party apps, I hope you realize that even prior to Siri, the iPhone had many other voice assistant applications.
Finally, perhaps I should remind you that in today's world, none gives a shit about specs, features, etc. Advertising is all that matters.
@IMAGIMATIONanimation yeah most only care about whats trendy. I like do more with my phone than make phone calls and launch apps. For the price of an iphone or android phone i want them to come close to replacing my computer out the box and with a cloud service

It's like the computer in the Star Trek series, the only thing missing is the voice. I absolutely love it. Once I saw Siri in action I had to have it (sold my iphone 4 for $100). I can see in another 20 years or so voice command is what we will use for most computer activities where manual control is not a requirement.

@IMAGIMATIONanimation I don't like it? I've been using it for years on Android. Only difference is, on Android it works much better. I say this because my friends new iPhone 4S with Siri (that he praises so much) can't even compute half of what my Android with Voice Action + can. Try a Voice Action + port on your iPhone - Siri is similar to it except it works better than Siri.

I don't know. . . A lot of videos on youtube show that android voice commands don't work as well as Siri, or have as many functions. If Android already had a superior feature, you would think that it would have generated more buzz.

@IMAGIMATIONanimation For one, people compare Siri to Voice Commands on Android (it's not a personal assistance type). Android DO have personal assistance services which MOST do not know about or even heard of, until Siri. Voice Command is different from Voice Action Plus, Vlingo, etc. for Android. And two, Steve Job is a master at marketing - he can take something very simple (or existing), over-hype it & the media jumps all over it. Unlike Apple, Google don't over-hype and advertise like hell.

Here is the difference though - Siri, and Voice commands come default on their respective platforms, so out of the box, the iPhone has superior voice recognition capability.
But, if you want to talk about third party apps, I hope you realize that even prior to Siri, the iPhone had many other voice assistant applications.
Finally, perhaps I should remind you that in today's world, none gives a shit about specs, features, etc. Advertising is all that matters.
