Basically they're mixing in all the AC games, the AC movie, a boat, a new island,a lifeguard station, probably a submarine, a bridge that looks like the golden bridge (in san francisco) & they added stairs.

Actually, the top area with the bunches of houses is a streetpass function that allows you to see people's houses you pass. The area below that with the fountain is the "city". Also, that thing next to the bonfire is a tree trunk, not a boat.

In the very middle, it looks like the museum or town hall.

I think the 'train station?' is actually the town hall and post office.

The crescent shape at the back, labeled as a city. I think it looks like a bunch of houses. Maybe in this area you can visit a friends house over wi-fi? Or maybe it's just a more suburban area where people will live and then you have the countryside.

Everything from the original AC is back! Woo, I missed riding the train, with the classic clattering of the tracks, and the simple whistle from the old steam train...ohhh memories... :)

With the train being back, I assume online play will deal that that. No more gates, just trains. I hope that this game is the ultimate hybrid of old and new Animal Croosing, as in Gamecube + DS, Wii = 3DS Game?

If you look at the top it looks like there is a street with shops connected to another street with shops so maybe theres a bigger city. It looks like theres a bridge to the right so i would think thats maybe how you get to other peoples towns online. And to the lower right there looks like there is another island so maybe its like on the gamecube version where you can go to animal island or something. Also are all the maps the same?

I find it instresting that the majority of the town is elevated above the ocean. The stairs present on the map obvoisely serve as a source of transportation to access the beach surronding the town. Also, it seems there will be a train like there was in the Gamecube version. I'm guessing this would be used to venture to other cities, either using wi-fi or local conection.

5. If you look closely on the right side of the town, a giant tree surrounded by pavement is there. Possibly the wishing well.

6. Looks like you can go fishing in a boat

7. City looks a lot bigger

8. You can have a bonfire on the beach

9. Gate is gone, so possibility of police station

Looks like there is gonna be a way to access an island in the lower right corner. There's a dock with boats. The northern-most point of the town looks like the city is returning. And the beach seems more realistic than the past Animal Crossings with it surrounding different sides of the town :)

@redandbluesonic Very unlikely that there are ever going to be cars in Animal Crossing. Maybe a bike in the future though.
