@iLikeToiletPaper hey :) I am a sixth grade tubist and that happens to me sometimes what you need to do is use less air and relax your lips when you buzz low notes and tighten them up when you play high notes it works for me :) hope this helps!!
itz techinically all da same concept for all brass but FOR TUBA u gotta have a bigger hole and crpa load more of air dan msot brass instruments like trumpet ofr example ^^
Im near sure the silver one is a BBb (being a performance major)
Eb and EEb are not designation of valves, but was originally done by conn to differentiate between their larger Monster models and their regular models, which both oftentimes contained 4 valves

What are the tubas pitched in?
ProfessorLegoTrains 4 years ago
EEb Boosey and Hawkes or Besson from the United KIngdom!!!
tubalooney 4 years ago
Those are Eb (single E flat) tubas. An EEb tuba would play 4 whole tones below a BBb.
rotunda57 4 years ago
That's probably true in the United States...
However this is an English manufacturer and they are EEb tubas in Great Britain.
They were called EEb to differetiate between three valve and four valve compensating tubas.
I know I'm english and I own one.
The one on the left is a symphonic/orchestral model based on a modification by John Fletcher and the other is the original conert version.
Cheers
