@OldNewsThinker I think this may have been the first appearance of this character (Leona Campbell) so maybe in creation of 'her' they thought in make-up/wardrobe that the nose would go with it? Because later we see her she don't have it so maybe they thought after this sketch when they used her again that they didn't need it. Jim Henson's "The Story Teller" played by John Hurt had a few extra prosthetic/latex facial features in the very first episode they shot but after that had less.
