  • Anyone know what kind of guitar Byrd is using?

  • Funny Barney Kessel is paying tribute to Charlie Christian while using a Charlie Christian pickup on his Gibson

  • does anyone have their appearence on the tonight show

  • waowaowao

  • greatest elevator music ever. seriously the django tune is bastardized. I love byrd so much anyway though.. but mostly the bossa stuff.

  • Dang these guys are GOOD!

  • I`ve always had a great fondness for Charlie Byrd ( and later Barney and Herb) as I like to play the classical guitar in a jazz style. I came across a sheet of a Byrd composition and have lost it and totally forgotten how to play it. What makes matters worse is I cant remember the title. It was a really syncopated samba ( not jazz samba) in D. Ring any bells with anybody. I`d just love to play it again ( another characteristic of the tune is it has no end just a constant circle )

  • beautiful

  • Rest in peace Herb Ellis, Great forever !!!!¡¡¡¡

  • Boy oh boy , Did that take me back ..Great post.

  • What a shame to put up these tasteful musicians with the inferior sound of a bass guitar!

  • what a vibe!

  • I think he might be Joe Byrd, Charlie s bro

  • @austinhinchey Yes you are correct, Joe Byrd on Bass.

    RIP Herb..!

  • great stuff

  • @thejazzman8 Can you or anyone help me. I`m trying to trace a guitar composition by Charlie Byrd that I had once and learned but have long since lost and forgotten. Its a very syncopated fast samba in D (not jazz samba). It has the characteristic of having no end but plays in a circle. Ring any bells? I`d love to play it again.

  • wow cool spelled with a "K". That makes it even cooler! These guys sure are Krazy Kool Kats. Their music is so pure, and untainted. Not a negro among them!
