Fyromskis should search for the word "μήκος" in online translators. This is Attic Greek. In Doric Greek it is "μάκος". This is the root of the name "Μακεδονία."
In Greek folklore, "Μακεδνός" (Makednos) who was the brother of "Έλλην" (Hellen) shows clearly the background of the name's origin. Why some fyromski choose to hide this information, is anyone's guess. My guess is that they are thieves. Those fyromski who do not know it, learn it and tell the rest.

On the contrary, "Μακεδονία" is a Greek name of the Doric dialect where they replace "η" with "α." "Μήκος" is the word for length in Attic (see online dictionaries), "μάκος" in Doric. Macedonia is a very Greek name as it saw the even older name of the region, "Emathia."

I learned Macedonian at home and at school and no one can tell me differently.
