People don't realize how hard this is. First, to become one.. OMG 0.o You have to be able to do gymnastics stuff (splits, back hand springs, etc. etc.), cheerleading stuff (chants, different jumps, etc. etc.) and dance stuff (general knowing how to dance, splits, all that stuff). Then on top of that you need to be drop-dead gorgeous and skinny!

Cheer is to hard! Try doing a back hand spring and chant at the same time! My cheer instructor broke her shoulder doing a back hand spring!

I hate how people say that cheerleading is way harder. have you ever done technical dance? Cheer is a cake walk compared to that. & most people don't ever get to cheer at a level where they can tumble & perform stunts like these people mentioned. Just shut up. -.-

@CSJcheer97 No they are pretty much strictly a pom squad. Which I never understand why they call themselves cheerleaders because they are a pom squad, I mean when it comes to cheering the team on they do that but as far as the other parts of cheerleading, they really don't do any of it. I always thought that instead of trying to specifically name what they are that they should just make up their own name, like the Dallas Cowgirls or something creative that has to do with the team name.

They are called cheerleaders because in the sidelines they cheer. Yet when they perform on the field they are a dance/drill team.

Quit hating and saying they are not cheerleaders, because they do both cheer and dance. It takes a lot of hard work and practice to get counts right, sharpness and the actual routine down. If u don't do any sort of dance then you really have no room to hate.

I don't know if any of you have noticed but this was an open PRACTICE they aren't going to be flipping around at the begging of it they have to warm up and believe it or not the leaps they do are hard for some people keeping the count rhythm and remembering the routine is hard so stop hating and stop saying it's so easy I can do that well I would like to see one of you that say it's easy and that it's not a sport go tryout and see if you would make it!
