  • This stage should have been in SSF4.

  • 1:16 - LOLZ!!!! Chun Li Looks MAD!!! XD

  • I love this game. And I love the snes version.

  • that's not fair... i don't want EITHER of them get hurt... go beat up the guys (-:

  • sakura ftw!

  • what was that last combo you did and how did you do that?

  • hi, that was the "custom combo" move...ur energy bar has to be at least "Level 1", and u press either two punch buttons+one kick button simultaneously, or two kick buttons+one punch button

  • I guess this is where the concept of V-ism came from then...i never knew this game had it and that it was just called "Custom Combo" until later when I successfully tried using V-ism Ken in SFA3. I was beaten a few times in Alpha 2 with a custom combo but never knew how to use it myself. Good thing i only played for fun.

  • didn't read it all but agree in most of the points i read...

well... we cant do nothing but enjoy good games

  • nice video

  • It was annoyed me that Chun-Li speaks Japanese. I know there are tons of Chinese people who speak Japanese, but still, she should speak Mandarin. I think it would be equally as cute.

  • I understand what you're saying; Capcom has never really gone out of their way to make each character speak in their native languages. Their voice overs are either just in Japanese or English. If you ever play the Street Fighter-rip off "Fighter's History", each character talks in their native country's language (I got videos of that game in my channel as well).

  • what about Blanka that is Brazillian and says nothing!

  • Yea Blanka is a monster though, and it's more understandable that he just growls and screams.

Now in the Tekken series, you have a legitimate argument. Eddy Gordo and Christie Monteiro are both Brazilian fighters, and neither of them speak Portuguese. Namco certainly has the money and the time

to at least hire someone who can speak fluent Portuguese.

  • Also I noticed that in the Capcom games, they speak English but it's more like "Engrish"...Japanese voice actors who try to basically say the words in English "Loound 1, Fiight!" so their accents are quite noticeable.

I think that Japanese companies like Capcom and Namco do not seem to care about

actual diversity when it comes to representing different cultures. They seem to only care about the Japanese/American interest beyond anything else.

  • I think this is rooted in the rather racist Japanese mentality of how much they've been influenced by America. After World War 2, they seem to have embraced a lot of American standards, such as having blonde hair, putting white people over, white standards of beauty, etc. Like...the Japanese seem to be very obsessed with the west and the western standards, that over time, they do not seem to give much thought about other countries and cultures.

  • Let's look at movies, for example.

Whenever you see a Japanese movie with a white person starring in it, blonde hair and everything, then they are on the front cover right away.

They really seem to love the "Caucasian" look, which is why alot of characters in anime/manga and video games look "white". Why is Naruto blonde and blue eyed? Why is Goku blonde and green eyed? Why is Sailor Moon a blonde girl?

The Japanese seem to LOVE that look because America influenced them alot.

  • Also I'm not saying all Japanese think this way, but the society in itself is rather prejudiced when it comes to certain ethnicities.

They treat black people like "monkeys" and "apes". They have this racist stereotypical image about how Africans are "ape-like".

There was a racist Japanese commercial that came out not too long ago depicting Barack Obama as a monkey. It's an E-Mobile ad

that got a TON of heat all over the world.

  • However, in DEFENCE of the Japanese,

the citizens did not seem to link the

two together. Like...the monkey itself was

a mascot of the E-Mobile company, and

it seemed citizens didn't even complain about the ad cuz they didn't look at the monkey

as Obama. Or perhaps they did subsconsciously?

Here's another example: In the popular manga "Slam Dunk" about basketball, the team captain looks African American. And the main character always call him "GORILLA" to make fun of him.

  • Wow. On that whole WWII social aftermath, I thought the same thing. Being African-American myself, and how media back in those days protrayed us negatively, it doesn't surprise me that most of the Japanese (or some of the other etnicities affected by WWII) carried that stigma.

  • Maybe more steps should be taken to bring the positive African Amercan media (books, TV shows, movies) to other countries (or, you know, ACTUALLY take the time to read up on our society/culture/point-of-view/etc.) that stigma could slowly die. It's almost sad that should that happen, it had to take more than 60 years for the masses to be educated on it.

Wow. This is my longest youtube comment ever! But I felt I had to speak my mind, so for those that read, I appreciate it.

  • I don't think that would help much, really. Sometimes racism isn't a matter of not knowing any better, some people just love or hate things or poke fun at things because that's just how they feel.

I also don't think that it's a major compliment that some other countries take "white america's" values as their own because those conceptions don't represent the feelings of everyone. In fact, I guarantee plenty of people in all of those countries dislike all Americans, not just white or black.

  • I really like Sakura's stage!

  • Me too the snes version got a better theme.

  • kool video. im good with ken and ryu.
