  • Thank you so much for the link to this video. My carrots in the square foot garden look dreadful. I planted them back in April, and they are still not doing much, and it's already middle of July! Maybe I need to just pull them out, enrich the soil with some compost and start over for the fall season, because they shouldn't take that long, should they??? Thanks again for the help!

  • Its so wonderful that yo uare teaching your little boy about gardening at such a young age, hopefully he will grow up to really know the value of it :)

  • thanks for the receipe

  • Wow, those are some carrots. No wonder your little guy had a hard time. LOL

  • I bought some of these carrot seeds today because of your video. I missed the spring planting, but will plant again about July 21st. They look good!!!! and the comment about red chantennay corrots, I gotta find those.

  • what great looking carrots!!! How do you cook your swiss chard???

  • @easternstar12 Thanks! I tear the swiss chard and put it into salads. Or, I saute (lightly!) it in olive oil, red pepper flakes, sea salt, shallots and fresh garlic. I prefer the leaves young and fresh best. Somethimes they get bitter when cooked. Thanks for watching!

  • Wow! Beautiful carrots! Do you thin them out & if you do how far apart?

  • @AmyLuvnTX Hi! I planted them 12 -16 per square foot (about 3 inches apart). It is VERY hard to plant them because the seeds are so tiny! But it is worth the effort in the beginning so I do not disturb them once germinated. If 2 or 3 germinate where only one should be, I snip the extras with a pair of kid scissors. So, yes, I do thin them.

  • Wow they look amazing!

I'm glad I planted red cored chantennay carrots now that I've seen yours... can't wait to harvest ;)

  • @jujutubes OK!!! Sounds yummy! That is what I am going to order for my next planting!! :)

  • WOW! What a carrot!

  • @VivianRinSC And yummy too!!

  • Wow, what a carrot! And your little guy is so cute :) My kiddos love the garden... I'll have to give that variety a try, impressive!

  • @momtomtse Thanks!

  • You're in FL, right? When did you plant out your carrot seeds?

  • @amiraprod525 Yes, I am in FL. I planted them in late Feb. (I think!) :)

  • Impressive!

I miss having little ones around. All my munchikins are monsters now. Boys are 6 feet tall, even my daughter betrayed me growing inches taller than I. :(

Off the topic of carrots, have you grown French Breakfast Radishes? They are large, tender and juicy! If you haven't, you must try!

    Happy gardening!

  • @Kashmir2000is Will try!

  • You're motivating me to plant some carrots! Now I'm cravin' some carrots with some honey& butter!
