In my mind, Rudolph is an adult, and remembers Frosty, and both of them live in Christmas Town from "The Nightmare Before Christmas", and are my team, along with Jack Skellington, of Holiday Avengers. That's our name, The Holiday Avengers!

49:39 Notice that even though there should be 9 reindeer, there's only seven. I made some research on how they made that mistake, and according to wikipedia, it's because the original ending did not explain what happened to the misfit toys. Parents were so upset about that one forgotten thing that they called Rankin/Bass enough to force another ending to be made.

There's also an alternate version with a different song Rudolf and Herbie sing that's called "fame and fortune," instead of the one-

I watched this once, when I was 10 in 1965. And now, just as then, this is still not a favorite Christmas special. Who in their right mind would think inclement weather would cancel Christmas? Watch this every year, even as an adult. However, this is not the original version. The 1964 version did not include the trip to the island of Misfit Toys by Santa at the end. So many people contacted GE after the first airing to express dismay at not knowing the fate of the toys, that GE changed the ending and included Santa's stop there. Many changes were made to the 1964 version - including the removal of several segments. They were added back in after 1998. :-)

The outcome is that your differences or oddities can be a strength and in some cases save the day. You just have to persevere. Would be good for kids to watch this today.

Wow! Last time I saw this was back in '80 or '81 when I was a kid. When Rudolph's girlfriend started singing "Theres always tommorrow", I got tears in my eyes. That song has been somewhere in my mind for the last 30 years. Watching this again after such a long time, was in fact a very touching experience..
