Hello,by default interpolation is set to bicubic smooth(I think).That caused awful lags when working with photos,text and well...everything.

Since I've switched to Bilinear all is fine.Nearest Neighbor would do the trick also.

There is much info on image interpolation and what it does on the net.Hope it solves your problems.CS4 is really fast now.I was really pissed of too.Cheers!

I've been pixel pushing for over a decade now. I own CS3. I would not upgrade to get CS4 unless there were tremendous automation capabilities added. I can do most things with PhotoShop 3. It's a different story when it comes to platforms like the Flash Player. If you don't have the latest version of Flash you just can pull certain things off, period.

I will say this about the people downloading photoshop. Most people who download it were people who were never supposed to get photoshop in the first place, IE teens, hobbyists, etc. I highly doubt that adobe is suffering, or really cares that some kid or some old person is downloading their software and does nothing more with it than make banners for their forum. Also, there is a turn over rate of people who actually buy adobe software after they download it, but that never gets discussed.
