I never really saw Albert as 'retarded' but rather... different. He seemed very smart, just somewhat of a 'cloud cuckoolander' type.

Albert was just..... different. Also he was part of a class ( binnaum, I think ? ) that become kind of a " 3rd sex " & served as a mid - wife / something similar to the other Tenctonese.

This show was FANTASTIC !!! So, NATURALLY FOX pushed it out the door & into heavy traffic.

Albert's character was sort of " slow ", but he was a spiritual leader / ritual shaman type.

The series covered territtory that the movie just touched on.
