@country101ism Actually, most people in the derby world aren't dumb asses. They know what cars to use, like these cause they're strong and can be fairly easy to build. I'm sorry but none of these cars are worth more than $5,000 restored.

Those "collectibles"....say 500 junkyards times a hundred of these "gems" in each yard. do the math .Plus this yard is in NY state, can you say rust?Full length floorboards completely rotted out, are you going to spend countless hours of body-shop work on these?

I'd love to have the blue Thunderbird; '77-79 model. One of my favorite body styles. They also made a great street stock circle track car. That one needs glass, interior and pint but it's an easy restore.

Having lived thru the Seventies..........these old land yachts were..and still are trash cars. Do you still see any of these plying down the road today?? NO......because they had no intrinsic value. Perhaps the 73 Monte Carlo...but that's about it.All the Buicks, most of the Pontiacs, except the TAs....Nothing for Olds, Caddies....No "classics" here! Grind em up please....an Era best forgotten.

WOW! That looks like the line up from a 1988 demo. Those cars were the best cars you would ever want to use. The last of the big ones with the shock absorbing bumpers. Pre 77 GM rolling death machines. So glad I got to live it out in that golden era. The newer cars and 4 cyl. ones are fun but not like those. You knew you got hit in those cars. Getting all choked up and sentimental here. Thanks for the post.
