  • ok I get it.

  • so the shifter on the car looks so manual , do automatics on infiniti look just like MAN shifts?

  • @spartanturtle333 It still shifts like an auto...I just added a leather shift boot and a different shifter handle.

  • @rapidfire1991 Yes, I think they sell these in the UK but you may want to research it. There is a link in the description of this video you can check out.

  • @joshski85 Of getting my first chair made* this is what happens when you stay up till 2am watching youtube vids

  • very nice car. my BMW x5 had the manuel to standard. My truck does not have that. the ttruk also has cloth interior and hard to slide on.. hope to have it reupholsered to leather this year. It is a 2010 Silverrado.

  • Hey Brian, I just wanted to tell you that I think your videos are amazing! I am 18 and have spina bifida. I am technically considered a paraplegic, but I can move my legs pretty well etc. Anyways, I will be learning to drive soon, so your video on driving and transferring gave me a few ideas for myself. I was just wondering though if you went through a certified driving rehabilitation specialist for your modifications? Thanks again for the amazing videos!

  • @klgrose2012 Thanks! Glad you like them. Yes, I had to go through a few sessions with a driving instructor at my outpatient rehab center and then test at the BMV to get my license to drive with hand controls. Then, I took my car to a mobility dealer that sells modified vans and other equipment to have the controls installed. I think they have to be installed professionally but I could be wrong. Good luck!

  • Dealer locater page gives me a '404 Error Page Not Found'. Is there another way to find a dealer? I'm in Southern, Ca. Thanks for a very informative video!

  • @Usapatriette Yes, if you look under the video description, I added a link to the web site and the dealer locator link should be working. Thanks!

  • I'm a female w/multiple sclerosis. I'm getting a minivan w/power hatch to accommodate a 3-wheel scooter. Can Menox hand controls be installed in minivans?

  • @Usapatriette Yes, I think they would fit fine in a minivan. The lever is very adjustable.

  • hey thankyou for your video. my right leg is paralyze after motorcycle accident. and i feel very happy knowing that i can drive car by my own and get my freedom back. :D

  • Im getting my Menox controls installed beginning of next week. Im so so so glad I saw your vid before I bought a pair I didnt want and then find out about these. Ive got a new front bumper, side skirts, two stage wing, full stereo, 18 in chrome/black rims and going to get it painted in the spring when I have all the parts installed.

  • @krisreckner Good to hear man! Like I said before, they are much more user friendly than the other controls. Let me know what you think once you get used to them.

  • I can't help but think the dog is the one holding the camera. haha :D

  • @sharpshooter374 There are kits available for manual cars but I don't think they are approved for street use. I've seen them on race cars and they are complex. I feel the same, I would rather drive a manual.

  • What is the exact name for that type of hand control? How much did it cost? I want to get one of those for my husband! :)

  • @nathuchy It's called the Carospeed Menox Hand Control and it is made by a company called AutoAdapt. The controls were around $2,000 installed but they are worth the extra money spent when compared to the push/rock hand controls.

  • When you get on it does it feel as if you had your foot down all on the gas? An how do you shift gears what extra adapter did you need? Im getting a is300 and getting the same hand control.

  • @Deepin210 Yep, the pedal goes all the way to the floor when you really get on it. To shift gears, I bought the electronic adapter made for a aftermarket paddle shifter kit and just hooked it up to a switch I built into the hand control. The control doesn't usually come with this option but maybe Menox could build it in for you if you ask them...I know they can control almost every other function on the hand control. (lights, turn signals, ect)

  • Turbo it....

  • I hope you don't mind my asking, but how do you reverse? Is it extra push on the brake?

  • @megnaan I still shift into reverse by using the shifter just like any other car. The gear I am in gets displayed on the gauges. The hand control just controls the gas and the brake pedals...and the car can still be driven with the pedals.

  • Cool....love that trick.....
