  • Hello, I want to use the first stitch you previewed to put together the pieces of a blanket I will be making, but I will be using a loom, will that stitch work the same or will it need to be modified in any way?

  • That "running stitch" is just the basic-VERY BASIC- sewing stitch :P

  • mmm..am trying hard NOT to crochet. very difficult.

  • I just finished the final row of my garter stitch. The Pattern says to weave in the ends of the finished squares. How do I weave in the ends while the stitches are still on my knitting needle?

  • @AnimeGirl1723 depending on the size of your needles and if they're straight, slide the stitches to the opposite end of the needle(away from the pointed end) lay it down, then proceed to weave in your ends. I hope i helped! :]

  • I'm trying to make a baby blanket with multicolored squares (blue, white, green, pink). What color do you suggest I use when I whip-stitch the squares together?

  • @AnimeGirl1723 Almost any color will do, but against the white squares the yarn you've chosen to use will stand out.(That said) You could probably use a color that will stand out against ALL of that squares ON PURPOSE like black or even gray. :] I hope i helped! :]

  • @ninjafree9neasy

    Thank you! :)

I'll probably use white yarn to bind them together.

  • @AnimeGirl1723 You are very welcome ;] I'm glad I could be of some help.

  • is that why you always have that long tail of yarn when you start?*

  • Great clip, thanks. I have found ebeginnersknitting (.) com to be very helpful also

  • I'm trying to do the vertical seam, and I have no idea what "bar" you're referring to. I can't find it on my edge. Does it have to be a certain edge: CO, BO, etc...?

  • @saprater25 the "bar" is really just one the loops that you see along the edges. It doesn't have to be the Co or Bo unless you want it to be I attached my granny squares that way so I could be EXTRA sure all of my weaved-in ends are secure!( I knit and crochet) :] I hope I helped :]

  • and how do i shape it??????

  • what if i run out of yarn while joining the 3 sides????

  • @duck34209 Tie it off with a knot, get some new yarn, and continue! :] I hope I helped :]

  • thank u so much for posting this, i have never been able to do a good seam until i saw this vid. my nan was teaching me but she passed away before she could show me everything and seams have always been me hurdle, tanx for posting

  • Thanks so much! I made a cute circle scarf!!!

  • Thank you, I thought that was how to join squares but wasn't sure, I am now!

  • An excellent, clear visual demonstration. It is good to have a choice of ways to connect pieces together. Now I can make my hats look profssional!! Thanks a lot.

  • well it depends on what you want. But yes, I would weave in my ends also, so that everything will be smooth and finished.

  • Thanks! I am so glad I found your videos because I am VERY new to knitting and learn better by SEEING. I am wondering, when you are done joining the squares, what do you do with the extra yarn you left hanging at the ends? Do you just cut it or do you weave it thru like you did when you were done with the square? Does that make sense? LOL

  • @familydesignsbyfaith you weave it in like you did the others :]

  • Now I can make socks and hats! Ahh thank you :D xx

  • Yea I know! There are endless of projects. Search on Google for some really good patterns. Socks are actually very difficult to make. Good luck with everything!
