  • No matter how you color The Sonics--one cool band & thats the important part.!!

  • These guysare WHITE???

  • "JENNY JENNY JENNY "...sing along and ftw

  • arent they from Seattle or Tacoma? a lot a good music came from the pacific nw and this was the beginning of it.

  • @Alphabex8 Tacoma, Washington

  • @LeilaniLad i knew it, see richard...

  • When extra terrestrians come to our planet then for music like this.

  • racial stereo typing

  • @TheEarl666

yo, go stereo. loud 'n louda.

  • The Sonics were The ONLY band worthy of covering Little Richard. Check out their version of 'Keep a Knockin' ' -- truly great. Gerry just nails the vocal delivery.

  • Im not even white buddy i from sevral different races no true race looking at me you would prolly say im spanish but im not even spanish the comment i was directing to was sombody who said this is to good to be made by white ppl which is racist in itself so dont come at me with this white pride bullshit i didnt play a race card you did bro i agree little richard is one of the best to ever do it ur also right becuase after doing some research its seems rock'n'roll morphed from the doo wop genre

  • @SlickSputta s Do you realize that Spanish people are white or what?Spain is an european country.Racists in the USA(I'M NOT GENERALIZING AT ALL)THINK THEYRE The only white people on earth . Well USA is a mix of races.like Brazil.like Australia .Have you seen Obamas grandparents?

Completely white!!These racists like to think theres no mix between races in USA but soo there is.A person can look withe and have black family background and vice versa. And rock is the same thing, blues and country...

  • @beroth77 Dude, lighten the fuck up.

  • white boy sounds like little richard...

  • este es little richard no¿?

  • SAW THEM ROCK B4 MOST OF U WERE BORN

  • como suena esto!!!te vuela la camiseta!!!!aguante Los Sonics!!!

  • It's fun listening to them and The Wailers both. You can hear alot of the Wailers riffs in the Sonics stuff. Like the riff here comes from The Wailers, "Livewire."

  • @VlogasaurusFlex The Sonics and Wailers were probably the best of the Seattle bands...but the Pacific Northwest was responsible for some totally amazing sounds...SONICS RULE!!

  • @thecountofbasie yeah go pacific northwest!

  • i thnk they liked little richard

  • @nancydfan96 The lead singer, Gerry Rosalie was called, "The White Little Richard."

  • arrived here via Motorhead's Louie Louie. funny old world.

  • It's a good version, isn't it! It surprised me, as I didn't think Lemmy would do that kind of tune.

  • I remember them performing it live on a TV show called Revolver, 78 or 79, it only ran for about 6 weeks and was hosted by Peter Cook ?!? dunno if any footage exists, must check. Overkill live on TOTP almost gave my dear old mum a stroke : )

  • gotta love the horn action! 5*

  • horn ? do you mean sax ? O.o

  • A sax is a horn. It just isn't brass. It's still a horn. It's a woodwind horn. A trumpet is a brass horn. A horn is anything you blow into and has a bell shape at the end of it. A flute and it's kind are not horns.

  • ok ;)

  • how childish .. go pervert ..

  • fuck you dude, sax is a sexy instrument.

    i loooooooooooooooooove them

  • ATTENTION SONICS----Come home again,Your PNW.fans

  • Man, Gerry must be a black man in his soul!

  • No fucking doubt. This is almost too good to be white people

    Rock'n'Roll!

    All the best from Norway

  • @sjefendin

    these dudes are Chicanos!!

  • @sjefendin fuck you white ppl created rock n roll u fuckin twit face

  • @SlickSputta fuck you and your white pride and fuck black pride too. PEOPLE invented rock n roll, just leave it at that.

anyways, black people were a lot more influential on the creation of rock n roll. and, in my opinion, little richard is the "father" (if such a hierarquy is even pertinent) of rock n roll, not elvis.

still, i don't care what colour their skin is.

  • @sjefendin But Little Richard is still better

  • craig said he'd call her if he could even remember his own phone number

  • Cool! I'd always thought that the Sonics sounded like if Little Richard had fronted a punk band. Never heard this actual Little Richard song cover by them. These guys rocked so hard! Sometimes I wish I could time-travel back to '66.

  • Hey...you should also check out Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels version...it actually cuts this one, IMHO :)

  • You mean "Jenny Takes a Ride!", the one where he merges Jenny Jenny with C.C. Rider? That's always been a fave of mine!

  • fuckin rock and roll

  • These guys were the soundtrack for my youth! We would play their albums through a P.A. system with speakers hanging out my bedroom window while we played hoops in the driveway or worked on our cars. Like many kids of the day, we had a garage band that was inspired by the sound we heard from those vinyl LP's. Bob Bennett's drumming was as powerful as any rhythm maker I've ever heard and I still get that feeling I had then when I cue up "have Love Will Travel" or "Strychnine" on my IPod. REAL ROCK

  • 40+ years you played parkers ballroom 170th aurora in the 60s man

  • never heard a better rendition than this.. thanx buddy

  • Rock & Roll forever

  • Cool sound. It is so good!

  • Wonderfull SONICS!!!!!!!!!!!!
