Most stereotypes are not really true for everyone. Not a very open minded person would conform to any thing easily. There is nothing wrong with not conforming to 'every single thing' some one says is true.
You are slant-eyed, aren't you? Asians DO get better grades and ARE more successful overall.Duh! Family and education are the reason why Asians are more successful overall.Duh! Asians DO have higher IQ's overall too. Stop hating yourself and stop downgrading your race. It's only when Asians mix with other races that they get dumb. Liberalism will destroy the Asian mind.Listen to your parents--not your friends!
To be honest (and I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but it's true), I can't really tell the difference between people from Japan, China, Korea, or what have you. It's not because I'm racist (because I'm not) but mostly just because I've never really around any Asian people or got to know any. However, I'm sure there are plenty of negative stereotypes to go around for all nationalities. For instance: not all Americans are blindly patriotic, racist, and completely ignorant to world affairs. Peace.
Thank you for posting this video.I have been watching the videos in responce to Kev's video and I'm really glad that people have been adding on to the discussion as the more we share and talk about all of the steriotypes we all have to deal with the more we can wipe them out of the collective minds open to it. We may never be able to stop the old creepy guys from hitting on you but I can't help but hope the more we talk about all of this openly and honestly we will make a difference.
Good editing. Just a comment, (I'm Canadian), I think it's so sad that these videos are DISproving stereotypes... I don't think they should have to be disproved to be justified.
I'm Asian (my former account chadtech2 as seen below). I can't tell what other Asians look like. The more you see other Asians unless they're southeast Asian, which is because of mixed blood, we all do look alike.
Late reply but, you kind of hit everything on the ball. I'm from South Korea, I'm terrible at Math myself. I'm somewhat okay at video games. I've been called a dog eater, and a communist. Oh, and "ALL ASIANS LOOK THE SAME" I usually just throw it back at people though in awkward ways and they kind of get the point. Like, "All white people are FAT" <- majority of Americans. And yes, I can tell you're chinese.
All this flack from others about your race is lessened to a great extent if you have money, because that's what it all comes down to. People here in this country are the greediest in the world, and they will treat you like garbage if you don't have money. This is opposed to Canada where it's more welcomed by their gov't to be poor or a drug addict.
love ur song in the back.. yeah!! clazziquai! oh yeah and one advantage to us asians- americans can't tell one asian from another asian so you can use like another asian's id for food and stuff!!
one thing she forgot is ~ she should separate those asians who grew up or were born here from those who came here at adult age! i observed that immigrant asian girls are either shy or aloof, cause of their cultural background, however, those (majority) who were raised/born here are either conceited, arrogant, or just plain sluts!!
I really liked your video! I'm chinese too. My dad's from taiwan (we each have one parent from there!) and my mom's from cambodia (but she's chinese).
they start because people are ignorant and are afraid of what they dont know. i hadnt known about the whole asian girls are hyper and immature thing though so thats new. i enjoyed your video so--bravo ma petite poisson! hahaha ^_^
you're from canada? so am i! i grew up in ottawa and so had to learn french because of the whole bilingual thing ( though im not fluent). i moved to the states about 2 years ago so thats a coincedence. i really understand what you mean, all this stereotypical things about asians is so unfair.
im not asian but i know for shure that they have the best personality in the world, its true. basically a good way of putting it is that they are very exeptant, kind, unafraid to be who they want to be and i recently realised they are FAR better and more dedicated workers than most other races.
once again, im not asian... i just really respect you.
I'm actually a French born Chinese and people are still shocked to hear this, obviously they've never been to Paris. I also lived in this hick town in Ontario bordering with the quebec border where i was the only Chinese and yes, i got the 'ching chong chang' and wat not. I grew up in a white society until the age of 13 where i finally moved to a country with an asian community and boy, i never felt better! Now, i have to say 99% of my friends are asians.i just can't seem to connect with whites.
Where did u go for high school? at my school, it's pretty much the same, and i get the most amount of stereotypes there too probably b/c of the same situation like you. There's only what? about only a couple of asians here. but the stereotypes never seem to stop. I ignore 'em.
Uh, I attend school in Atlanta. It's a fairly small school, so not a lot of diversity at all. It's getting better now that there are more Asians that are coming in from the younger grades. Most of the grades before them had either just one token Asian or none at all.
I used the song Sweety by Clazziquai. :3 Glad you liked it.
I wonder what criteria one with the magical ability to sterotype others uses:
Shape of the head, if you can roll your tongue, or your shoe size? And what does it tell me? Nothing!
In the end, what matters and builds our identity is how we are socialized by our environment, and that is not done just by being asian or caucasian or whatsoever, but by friends, magazines, school ...
I liked your vids on first sight, so I could´t help to subscribe. Keep up the good work. I want to see more videos!
The last part of the video reminded me how Asians would use the peace sign. I'm almost certain you are not Korean, but possibly Japanese or Chinese. (Take no offense if I'm wrong). "People ask me if I'm Asian because I speak fluent which obviously means I can't be Asian and speak fluent French at the same time." // I cracked up on that lol, kinda shows the stupidity of people these days. Your eyes are nice btw.
Why, thank you! I am actually quite guilty of using the Asian peace sign all the time. I'm not really quite sure where I picked it up.
No offense taken at all. People usually guess that I'm either Japanese or Chinese, but I'm Chinese. It's better than most guesses, including Vietnamese, Korean, and French. Thanks for watching.
hmm some people are just being ignorant and dumb lol I myself, can´t really tell which asian you are and btw guess my eyes are smaller than yours yeah ^^ nice vid
Ahah, thanks. I usually don't think that most people can really tell the difference most of the time, unless you're like one of those super-old Asians who can tell the difference on the spot. D:

I fear the moment when it feels more natural to speak into a camera than directly to a human person :)
Fortunately, that´s never going to happen.
At least I hope.
Well, considering all that wierd people podcasting on youtube, that didn´t look ridiculous at all to me.
Dimon40k 4 years ago
Well, that's a relief then. :) I certainly hope that that never happens to me either.
