How thick is the ice. Does it make you go faster than with tyres?

Hi,

very unusual year. The ice was about 5 inches all the way to the center of the lake, then open the entire other half. Truth is that blokarts do nearly as well on wheels as they do on the ice. There is nothing like ice sailing though. It's just beautiful out there.
