Can someone give me the short, right to the point answer on the 9mm Vs the 380? Is the 380 a lot less powerfull, go less distance? anyone fill me in...i'm stuck inbetween a 380 or 9mm pocket pistol purchase.....thanks if you drop me line
More depends on the rounds you use, really. If all things were equal ie, ammo, barrel length etc, I would use a 9mm to kill things and 380 for punching holes in paper. That's just me though. Shoot some different guns, and see what works in your hand better. A well placed 380 will be more effective than a poorly applied .45acp.
@TheWankerschnitzel So from all my research i feel like I wouldnt by a 380 unless it was a revolver. It looks like some 380 ammo isnt strong enough to push back slides Consistently. You agree?
@DeeRugz4u I have never had a problem cycling 380 through a Browning hi-power. I do use fairly hot rounds though. If I was to only to pick one, I would choose a 9mm. It has some versatility because there are so many different types of rounds, and it's still fairly low recoil. If you can, it would be good to shoot a few different pistols in different calibers.
Do flat nose ammo's usually expand? What's is their benefit over fmj? I'm looking for a good pocket gun(in Cali) got it down to lcp vs kahr 380..but I m not sure about the .380 round in general?? I hear 380 have a lot of failures too?? The 9mm is just enough larger to the point I m not sure if I would call it a pocket gun anymore? The 380 would be easier to carry and can handle +p ammo so it's ballistics cone closer to that of the 9mm?
Nice video. May I make a recommendation? Create a performance test using some milk or water jugs mixed with sand. That should simulate human flesh a little bit better than phone books. Place about four or five of the jugs in a row, right up against each other, and we should get a real good look at the ballistics of these rounds.

@DeeRugz4u I forgot to share: The 380 ACP is nothing other than a short 9mm (its German name, in fact, 9mm Kurtz, literally translates as 9mm Short),

Thanks for this video series man, really helped me out in deciding whether I wanted a 9mm or .380. I think I'm going with the 9mm. Great video!

44mag,357mag,10mm and 9mm are the most accurate rounds. which is the most important info
.
380 ,,40, 45acp ,455 and 50 as well as everything else are a lot less accurate

@SupremeAmerican are you saying the US military are homosexuals?

Try the .380 Winchester PDX-1 - 95 Gr. It expands for me from .75 caliber to a full inch reliably.

Try testing the Remington Gold Saber 102 grain! I really want to know what the damage is with that for .380!
