  • is that a 1.8 vvc engine?

  • guzzlin

  • INDICATOR!! lol wee rocket

  • the vvc metty is quick but the metty 1.8 20valve turbo audi engine conversion running 340 bhp on the original pg1 gear box .....

check out reyland dot co dot uk for the conversions in the westmids, stella guy with so much modifying knowledg he's scary ! LOL ...... great guy with a great service ...knows mettys like the back of his hand , handy with a cossie too ;)

  • tf or coupe vvc engine?

  • cold engine man!! not good!

  • @017matt

engine wasnt cold temp dont work properly...lol

  • @rover100vvc Fair enough, actually my temp sensor stopped workin the other day, put a new one in today - seems to be better - just glad it wern't the thermostat!!

  • @017matt ok fair enough I had the same problem - was the sender unit

  • wow imagine putting a 1.8 in a mini LOOOL thats a light car for you and the best car ever made ! nice gti mate sounds ace :D

  • A friend has a VVC in his Metro (looks cool with Lotus cam cover). Performance is pretty shattering with 160hp, car maybe have the comfort of riding in a dustbin but it is practical and affordable to run.

  • with cool engine... :S

  • fucking hell i knew these were quick with a 1,8 engine fitted in but i'm totaly shocked

i bet a vvc metro is even faster!!!

i think i'll need to turn the boost up on the coupe turbo soon ;)

  • holy shit!! lol fast car mate!

  • can you not turbo it with a set up off an mg zt160 plus its a 1.8 k series. because they are fast even although they are big and heavy, your car must be very fast because i drove a metro with a 1.4 16v and i can remember it it could do 120 easily and it could handle

  • most metro,s with the 1.8 engine will get to 60 mph faster than any hot hatch out today the only thing faster is the 220 gsi turbo

  • the engines are very simple to fit it's one of the simplest engine conversions you can do into any car.

  • how easy is it to fit 1 of those engines. anyone u recomennd. its the lotus engine isnt it 1.8. cheerz

  • The engine is in the elise yes but the engine is made by rover. as long as you have a multi point injection one to start with the conversion is probally the easiest conversion to do yes. Believe me my dad has a scooby that is far from standard and i can easily stick with him. Alot of it boils down to driving and when you get used to it, like myself i can pretty much thrash anything. Very rarely i get beat by anything.

  • Needs more power. But awesome basis.

  • it's got 155bhp

and is far quicker than any car that i have come across up2 now

  • What the fuck you talking about. If you have ever driven one then you know that plenty of power. Yeah you always want more but thats more than enough to kill cossies mate. They are lighter than a turd!

  • yep totaly in agreement with you. my car can hit 60mph in a shade over 6 seconds and is on par with a new focus st. rolling run with a scooby 70mph to 120mph my car is faster as it weighs fuck all. and with the set up i have the car can out run almost any car run the twisty roads, as i can brake way later & get the power down much quicker as my car weighs fuck all. enough said i think :)

  • No need swear my friend, its just a discussion. Ive had a 145hp VVC engined metro for a few days(off a mate of mine). The VVC transplanted Metros are great cars, real sleepers and fast. Im just saying with a power to weight of circa 180hp per tonne, theyre not quite fast enough in a straight line for me. But still a great car.
