Most jews teach that are learned in the texts teach that when you die you go to "hell" for 0-12 months depending on how evil you were and then go to heaven. When your parents die you are supposed to mourn for 11 months to protect?/watch over? them but you don't mourn for 12 months because you don't want to believe that your parents could have been evil enough to go to "hell" for the full 12 months.
I would be in more terror if I had to spend my entire existence living in a cloud where there is no pain and no evil and everyone has to be happy forever. Seems a little boring. ants don't "consciously" and individually know they are going to die, your example is just manipulating their chemical, unconscious instincts. they are not self-aware; if they looked in a mirror they would never understand that they are looking at themselves (only a few animals can do that), because they have no mental concept of self.

Close, SR71, the most atheists say they don't believe in gods, but don't believe there are no gods (which means the exact same thing). Me, I believe and know there are no gods like I know Mandy Moore isn't sitting on my face right now. Intellectually, sure, I could be hallucinating and she could be straddling me like a mechanical bull but as much as I can say I know anything, I know she isn't, unfortunately. As for agnostics, well, they misuse the term. Its a qualification, not a classification.

Most jews teach that are learned in the texts teach that when you die you go to "hell" for 0-12 months depending on how evil you were and then go to heaven. When your parents die you are supposed to mourn for 11 months to protect?/watch over? them but you don't mourn for 12 months because you don't want to believe that your parents could have been evil enough to go to "hell" for the full 12 months.
Opinions vary much though.

I would be in more terror if I had to spend my entire existence living in a cloud where there is no pain and no evil and everyone has to be happy forever. Seems a little boring. You can't have the sweet without the sour. So if it is real I would rather just not exists then be stuck in a hell or heaven forever and ever that never ends.
