I was at Claret School in Q.C. back in 1985. Everybody listens to Cool Carla and the gang of XB 102. God, their reception can sometimes be hard to dial in specially when it's raining.

Back then in the mid 80's, .. A to Z records in Kamias, Q.C. is the place to get all your New Wave/Goth/punk stuff. Kumbella Boutique in SM Edsa also.

Thrash,Death Metal stuff, hardcore, crossover, Oi, punk are mostly found in Recto near F.E.U. Univerity in the late eighties.

If you like The Sound and Joy Division, there is another band that didn't get much US attention from Belgium called "The Names". youtube their song "Night shift" and "Discovery". has that same haunting sound to it. Talk Talk is another good band. They song "It's my life" which was a bit commercialized in the USA but they're actually a great band. kind of a bit of experimental style jazz and post punk.

hmm ... once I was a big fan of this group from their start and still I like their music . But times have changed and I changed too. Adrian Borland (I have the solo LP too) is a great singer and the music of the sound is magnificent ... but today I hear other music - when I have time ... mostly just in the car. ... So why don't sell the LP's when someone want them?

saw them in belgium in 85 supporting, of all people, siouxise and the banshees. they were, by far, the best band playing that day. followed them up and loved everything they did. as usual, life got in the way, and lost touch with them and didn't give the band much thought til you tube comes along and brings it all back. incredibly, feel truly gutted Mr B is no longer with us. thanks to everyone who has posted some very rare, but incredible, Sound trax. cheers.

seems to be impossible to get hold of Sound CDs. They were re-released and then withdrawn due to problems with licensing. Someone suggested to me to use Spottify to listen to them online. Better than nowt I guess.

this was the best of the early 80"s.... it was first aired on the radio around october of 1980... man it was so long but their sound does stand the test of time... man this brings me back to my youth. living in a small island called the philippines... i wasnt even in highschool back then... but i already knew that this was a good jam... you can just feel the lyrics and the beat.... trippin around alabang...and valle verde... tryin to hang with an older crowd. i miss the p.i.
