In my opinion the meaning of life is to find out and know that one is a speck of God / the All. When this is fully realized then one learns to abandon the ego. To be aware of the fact that we are submersed within finite matter. Knowing that we are all infinite is the first step in becoming unattached to material bondage.
Keep in mind that these are people that have not practiced macrobiotics for a significant period of time. I realize that it is easier to dismiss something rather then to find it out for yourself. In the human perspective, what might seem imperfect is really perfect.

@streetlight482 No, i know that "Disgustipated" on their first album goes for nearly 16 mins! There may be longer songs than that i don't think there are many others if there are, this song however is still one of their longer ones.
@denvermedibuds420 he is. try composing and playing his music like his on the piano. it takes talent and skill. taking drugs is like having bipolar. when you're high, you think the stuff you make and hear is genius, but when you come down from the high you realize what crap it is.

If god is an entity and we were made in it's image, then our eventual purpose is to become one with that entity...this is done through an infinite amount of time and space where in each of our consciousnesses progresses more each lifetime. One of "us" will eventually learn all that knowledge that we already have inside us thus making us "god" or one with god which would equal "heaven"...never reaching this revaluation equals an eternity of "hell"
Were just in a parallel universe where we're connected to everyone and everything in all of them past present and future..anyone who's taken acid knows this and one time I transcended to the center of all the universes and saw every question and answer that could ever be asked.Our conscious mind can't handle that much information thats why most of the time is comes to us in dreams.I sat down and came up with string theory without ever hearing about it not mention the other crazy shit I've seen

@davidsix54321 Here is what you need to know about drugs. They can be used properly as a tool, no pun intended, to achieve what normally takes years of hard work and dedication. This is either because the principles are no longer taught in the home because of organized religion & govt which could be part of the same initiative to keep us all blind to the truth. NWO
So basically, drugs can be spiritual cheat codes; Tool advocates truth. "When you get the message, hang up the phone." - Alan Watts
@Parasiticpride Well said!! Bill Hicks had it right. For what other reasons (other than they just don't want you to know) would they ban the drugs that grow NATURALLY on earth and allow your mind to be opened? Just because the Bible says not to eat from the TREE OF KNOWLEDGE of Good and Evil doesn't mean we cant. God doesn't make mistakes, and he gave us FREE WILL. The mind altering drugs I've been on have only brought me closer to God's reason for our existence: To LOVE and grow Spiritually!!
@ccfbrad Lots of things occur naturally, opium, box jelly-fish, etc... That argument has been co-opted anyone calling for decriminalization of weed or whatever. The fact that I think it should be is irrelevant. My point is that just because something occurs naturally, doesn't make it divinely righteous.
we were told to use what we were given on the earth, with only 1 restriction.....sounds like we as humans have no right to ban naturally occurring elements
One of Tool's best songs imo. Im a christian, but I love the "heres Tom with the weather" bit. These are undoubtedly some of Tool's best lyrics, and the song is just amazing. IN OUT IN OUT
@kraeckelium Oh my!!! Suggesting to a "Christian" that doesn't know much about Tool to check out "Opiate" and the lyrics is like going for the kill after the first blow in a boxing match. In order to "get it"...that is, to get Maynard's lyrics AND Tool's music....you have to consume the content slowly, and have an open mind when listening.
The lyrics of Maynard are not that hard to understand, it depends on the think pattern you see and hear the world around you with. If you like these manners of thinking, try to listen to Terence McKenna. Definitely Bill Hicks took his theory and turned it into a great comedy sketch (McKenna's "Stoned Ape" Theory of Human Evolution)
@kraeckelium Of course his lyrics aren't hard for someone like me or you (merely mentioning Terrence McKenna tells me that you think outside the box...lol) . 9 out of 10 people wont get his lyrics (i am referring to the true meanings). And each song can and will have multiple meanings, all dependent upon the listener. I am pretty confident that I can come up with a different meaning for any Tool song that you give your interpretation for. Thats the beauty of MJK. : )
@NearbyHermit Keep in mind to see the true identity of things you must ignore all that was taught to you (even religion) and see what they really are.
To think for yourself you must question authority...
@AvengedK0rn7Fold i'm sure you got so much shit for this but that wasn't tool, that was a friend of tool's who was a comedian. he died and this song and Ænima are pretty much based off his words. maybe more off of the cd, i'm unsure, but yeah... etc.
@durrr123 sure buddy. thats actually kind of cool, but still religion is illogical, sorry buddy, there is actual truth in the world, sorry you can't see it.
All I've talked about seeing is your lack of comprehension that your opinion is neither absolute nor objective and that what you say you "know" is really just what you've chosen to believe based on what you've been told in your life. In reality, the fact that anything exists at all, the entire universe included, is completely illogical. Unless you can grasp the concept of eternity (simply reference your mass of world knowledgeand truth, i'm sure it's in there somewhere)
@bbeboutuaa Half correct. Mathematics has its relevance in the relative material universe. Opposite to that is the absolute spiritual universe which is really where the material universe is manifested out from. It cannot be the other way around.
@tontel8 Merely saying or thinking about prying open the third eye does not make it so that easily. One needs to uncalcify the mid-brain pineal gland third-eye with proper food practice first and foremost. Physical activity such as exercise and stretching also helps to accelerate a healthy mind.
Google the pineal gland.
Keep in mind that proper balance between the two universal forces plays an important part in achieving spiritual success.
meh. i just took some shrooms and put myself in the right mind state and pretty much just stumbled upon it by accident. It being the meaning of life, I guess? whose to know the answer to that question, Just a well developed opinion through experience.
@opti95 in fact, what you think you know, is really what you've decided to believe, well-informed or not. Take a remedial philosophy class and then come back and talk about what you know to be true. Perhaps then, when you have a better grasp on perception and subjectivity you'll respond like less of a cunt when someone says something that doesn't factor into your obviously huge and perfect existential equation
@durrr123 Yes Nietzsche once said the "truth is subjective", well i challenge that with the statement "religion is illogical", and i will prove it to you, if you care so much about how and what i believe in then read my philosophy paper Religious Faith, it is within the description of my video Public Service Announcement 4, i will even make it the featured video on my YouTube page so there you go, if you want to discuss this matter than there is my whole philosophy on the subject.

One of Tool's best songs imo. Im a christian, but I love the "heres Tom with the weather" bit. These are undoubtedly some of Tool's best lyrics, and the song is just amazing. IN OUT IN OUT

@AvengedK0rn7Fold
Try Opiate, thats also a good song, with good lyrics ;)
kraeckelium 1 year ago
@kraeckelium Oh my!!! Suggesting to a "Christian" that doesn't know much about Tool to check out "Opiate" and the lyrics is like going for the kill after the first blow in a boxing match. In order to "get it"...that is, to get Maynard's lyrics AND Tool's music....you have to consume the content slowly, and have an open mind when listening.
ccfbrad 1 year ago
@ccfbrad
The lyrics of Maynard are not that hard to understand, it depends on the think pattern you see and hear the world around you with. If you like these manners of thinking, try to listen to Terence McKenna. Definitely Bill Hicks took his theory and turned it into a great comedy sketch (McKenna's "Stoned Ape" Theory of Human Evolution)
kraeckelium 1 year ago
@kraeckelium Of course his lyrics aren't hard for someone like me or you (merely mentioning Terrence McKenna tells me that you think outside the box...lol) . 9 out of 10 people wont get his lyrics (i am referring to the true meanings). And each song can and will have multiple meanings, all dependent upon the listener. I am pretty confident that I can come up with a different meaning for any Tool song that you give your interpretation for. Thats the beauty of MJK. : )

@AvengedK0rn7Fold I don't get the part with '' I'm a christian ''
So what does religion have to do with a song about opening yourself ?
Now, going back to the song, it's the best song on Aenima, but only a bit better than the other awesome songs :)

@NearbyHermit Keep in mind to see the true identity of things you must ignore all that was taught to you (even religion) and see what they really are.
To think for yourself you must question authority...

@AvengedK0rn7Fold i'm sure you got so much shit for this but that wasn't tool, that was a friend of tool's who was a comedian. he died and this song and Ænima are pretty much based off his words. maybe more off of the cd, i'm unsure, but yeah... etc.

@AvengedK0rn7Fold "Im a christian"
why don't you just go ahead and put "i'm illogical"??

@durrr123 illogical
opti95 1 year ago
@opti95 in your oppinion. which is subjective, and merely a drop within an ocean that ironically could probably not contain your ego.
durrr123 1 year ago
@durrr123 sure buddy. thats actually kind of cool, but still religion is illogical, sorry buddy, there is actual truth in the world, sorry you can't see it.
opti95 1 year ago
All I've talked about seeing is your lack of comprehension that your opinion is neither absolute nor objective and that what you say you "know" is really just what you've chosen to believe based on what you've been told in your life. In reality, the fact that anything exists at all, the entire universe included, is completely illogical. Unless you can grasp the concept of eternity (simply reference your mass of world knowledgeand truth, i'm sure it's in there somewhere)
durrr123 1 year ago
@durrr123 Mathematics is the only universal truth
bbeboutuaa 1 year ago
@bbeboutuaa Half correct. Mathematics has its relevance in the relative material universe. Opposite to that is the absolute spiritual universe which is really where the material universe is manifested out from. It cannot be the other way around.
SpiralsHappen 5 months ago
@SpiralsHappen and I take it yo have proof of this spiritual realm you speak of. Or do you just take it on faith.
bbeboutuaa 5 months ago
@bbeboutuaa I should have been more clear.
The relative (finite) material universe and the absolute (infinite) spiritual universe, which also includes and controls the former.
To answer your question; personal proof by applying personal discipline. One has to self-study macrobiotics and then put it into personal practice.
The wise person knows that he does not know it all however he also knows that it is possible to know.
SpiralsHappen 5 months ago
@SpiralsHappen Google "personal proof" and look at the third result. I don't think anything more needs to be said.
tontel8 5 months ago
@tontel8 Merely saying or thinking about prying open the third eye does not make it so that easily. One needs to uncalcify the mid-brain pineal gland third-eye with proper food practice first and foremost. Physical activity such as exercise and stretching also helps to accelerate a healthy mind.
Google the pineal gland.
Keep in mind that proper balance between the two universal forces plays an important part in achieving spiritual success.

@SpiralsHappen
meh. i just took some shrooms and put myself in the right mind state and pretty much just stumbled upon it by accident. It being the meaning of life, I guess? whose to know the answer to that question, Just a well developed opinion through experience.

@bbeboutuaa trip on DMT for a couple week you will see what he is talkin about.
blazerdude89 5 months ago

@AvengedK0rn7Fold why you open that up with "I'm a christian."? you think tool is sacreligious? or do you think drugs are sacreligious? cause both are far from it.
