  • Steve Hackett always has amazed me,This solo piece is so nice and deep in thought you drift away to dream land!

  • Great piece by "Maestro" Steve!!

Recently Steve has wrote a really piece for guitar inspired by Tolkien "Galadriel" from

album "The Book of Bilbo and Gandalf".

  • Steve Hackett legend, I'm a huge fan and have only discovered this song, such a shame that so many of his gems won't be heard by as many as there should be.

  • there is no guitarist better

  • What a beautiful piece of music.

  • ESPECTACULAR !!! Increible Steve como convina estilos, por un lado ambient, acustico, clasico, español, new age y por el otro lado progresivo, sinfonico, estridente, rocker... Conozco pocos como Steve Hackett que hacen esto !!! Espectacular!!!

  • txikilin did a great job with that video!!, and correct- this is from Steve's 1993 solo album called Guitar Noir. (Steve was the Genesis guitarist from 1971-1977, and I also read that this song was about Steve agonizing when to leave Genesis, and then he finally does. He was more into the "prog stuff", not the "Invisible Touch" type stuff. Steve's writing ideas for Genesis were not accepted as much as Tony Banks ideas-another reason he left)....

  • You are right musicomments. And to my liking Steve Hackett has succeed in music quality much more than any other members of Genesis, including Peter Gabriel. That's thanks to Hackett's faithful sense of romanticism and prog rock.

  • totally agree! peter is great too, though. and so is tony's classical suite "seven". i think a reunion could lead to some very interesting music:)

  • A beautiful piece, nicely put to great video, thanks.

I have to admit that even though I love Steve and all his early work, I don't know what album this is from - anyone?

  • Guitar Noir

  • This was written to express his feelings after walking away from Genesis(rainbow).

Your video compliments this music beautifully.

  • Great song! I like his style. Beautiful song and good job (about the video)! ;)

  • thats some good stuff right there......

  • If you like this then buy the albums. Brilliant stuff.

  • GREAT POST GREAT TASTE !!! KEEP IT UP

  • Steve and Ant together...that would be wonderful.....

Slow Dance-like orchestra and Steves guitarplay..... a dream .......

  • I would like to see Steve & Anthony Phillips do an album together.....

  • Look for his 2009 album, "Out of the Tunnel Mouth". Ant plays 12 string guitar in two tracks: "Emerald and ash" and "Sleepers". Wonderfull stuff

  • sounds like the score the the deer hunter only better, love ya stevo!!!

  • Well said pazu7. Why hasn't he scored a film? He and his music would be perfect fits.

  • Beautiful composition and beautifully played by a master. So great to watch Steve on other YouTube video - no theatrics, no pulling faces, no false emotion - just marvellous playing, like it should be. What else can we ask for? A true gentleman of the music world.

  • gives me goosebumps =P

  • I rarely cry on music, but when I'm very sad, I listen to that one over and over and I cry .. Great song !

  • Saw him play this live in Buffalo,N.Y. Brought tears to my eyes.....

  • Hackett's emotions are so wonderful. The 'Rings' imagery is beautiful. If YES artist 'Roger Dean's' upcoming film needs to be on this level to do his work justice.

  • great melody!

  • If they organize a gig in paradise, he'd be playing his guitar there.

  • Well done. Hackett is so atmospheric and haunting. I think he'd do wonderful scoring a film.

  • This is lovely.
