  • learned the same movement in Myotherapy 7 Step Release Method which was developed by KC Miller owner of Southwest Institute of Healing Arts.. I would love to take ART classes but for the entire body it ends up being about 12,000.. (with travel, hotel, meals).. and that is just for 3, weekend seminars.. my entire 1,000 hour massage education was a little less than that.. don't know why it's so outrageous.. it's not like they're reinventing the wheel.. "kinessage" is also similar..

  • This being a rather user-unfriendly muscle, in terms of it's positioning, I'm struggling to find any self myofascial release techniques.

Do any release techniques exist that can be done without a physiotherapist?

  • As long as there is not a quick stretch involved, there is no "activation". The sustained manual pressure on the muscle belly actually has an inhibitory effect.

The initial medial rotation slackens the subscapularis.

  • very good video. i wasn't sure what the point of the initial medial rotation was---when you did it at the beginning of the release....?

  • @goodobama

The first move is to put the muscle into complete relaxation, before the pin...before the stretch.

  • Was the abduction not too fast, could this activate the muscle?
