  • United States of Hypocrisy. Will drag people in front of your politicians but no one can pull YOUR business men who fuck up over the coals.

These videos are a mockery when you see them in context.

  • americans are a bunch of skeptics. look at their demise now...

  • i feel like slapping those panel members for asking rhetorical questions

  • Considered the result of the late tsunami disaster, we are all mortal. There are still a lot of room to grow and improve.

  • That is nonsense. Trade relations with the Japanese have enrich both sides of the shore as well as advanced the two civilizations farther from the rest of the world. What we learn from it, is that wealth of nations are not merely a balance or distribution of wealth but included also wealth creation. While physical resources are limited, labor and human capital are abundant and near limitless.

  • Mr. Akio Toyoda has been pimped-up in suits and invited to powerful meetings. Instead of just building cars, his company has now been placed on the New York Stock Exchange. There are handshakes and cameras with American Corporations. Remember that Wall Street was the reason why the system crashed in 1929. It was also the deep rooted reason why WW1 and WW2 was fought.

  • I was 19 when the first time I drove my brother’s Toyota.

I'm 41 now, I have my own Toyota.

My daughter is 13 now and I already promised that I will buy her Toyota when she'll turn 20.

I always feel confident when I drove Toyota.

Please don’t tell that I’m obsessed with Toyota car!!!

    It's such a feeling that I can’t describe.

    Oh what a feeling!!! TOYOTA.

  • SHAME on the American Goverment -___-. Goverment EXPLOITING toyota to help GM. especially because our goverment OWNS GM. besides toyota has the least recall problems compared to the other auto car makers. stupid racist government.

  • US is country of BIG BUSINESS.

And because BIG AMERICAN AUTOMAKERS are so powerful, the gov. created special rules just to put other countries out of the game. Just when Citroen was selling the most on US they:

    -banned directional headlamps;

    -made sealed headlamps mandatory;

    -forbid cars with variable bumper height;

-made shock absorbers in bumpers mandatory.

Citroen, then Lancia gave up, Fiat, Alfa, Peugeot...

Now they're protecting Detroit against Toyota.

  • @ruiferreira89 Obviously they wouldn't care to make that fuss if the gas tank on an American car blew up on rear end impact. Ups, they did. And American cars are still bad today.

Almost no one outside the US buys them because they're too heavy, too ugly and make horrible mileages. Chevrolet is selling rebadged Daewoos in Europe, because no one would buy one and now won't buy a Chevrolet. The Fords that are sold in Europe are designed in Europe. And their diesels come from PSA Peugeot Citroen.

  • all this and it's still not proven to be true that anything was ever wrong with a toyota brake pedal...all the incidents linked to driver error(pressing gas pedal and brake pedal at the same time)...check out carquestions channel for some truth

  • The more cars u sell, the more defects you should expect... it is simple statistics ... one out of a million is small when u sell only a million cars... but then u sell 10 millions? or 100 millions??

  • @WisamSafi1978

They have to sell a lot of cars to made ends meet. Toyota is being competitive since they faced a lot of competitors like Honda, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan, et al.

Their upper end/higher quality brand is the same as Mercedes/BMW. Lexus cost more to made and so a higher price tag.

  • To make things worst, Ford is opening a second factory in China now!

Imagine that::: An American car MADE IN CHINA!

American design standards meets Chinese quality! A consumer's worst nightmare... enjoy!

  • american style if they cant win fairly they will get dirty.

  • This is 100% wrong. it is unfair that that US government gets to use it's power to make competitors to GM and Chrysler which they now are the majority stock holder toolook bad.

Anyway, they looked at the black boxes of the cars in these crashes and almost all of them were frauds. The only real one was the family killed in the Lexus speeding towards the intersection. Besides that many were framed to make Toyota look bad, and others were just idiot drivers who hit the gas instead of the break

  • @rockindoodcm Ah, perfect. Another Toyota lover, here to spread lies and call them fact.

For starters, the government branch responsible for recalls is the NHTSA, not the elected offficials responsible for bailouts, so knock that crap off about unfair treatment to imported brands.

There are no black boxes in Japanese cars. There is no devise that stores information pertaining to a crash, so you can knock that off too.

The facts are, some cases are real and it's sad that the poeple died.

  • @electricshockproof Yes there are black boxes in the cars... at least the American models (the one's without the J in the vin # which were the one's with the "problem"). And no, i am not a Toyota fan, i am a Honda fan. Oh, and what you said about the government was B.S. It's like if company makes a business deal and then after that the legal department of that company argues about it and you saying they aren't connected because they aren't on the same floor.

  • @rockindoodcm Ok, show me a black box. Show me where the information from the crashes resulting in deaths have been used to prove or disprove your point.

Show me where the NHTSA has anything to do with the bailout of US manufacturers. Show me the poeple who are involved and how they co-mingle.

You can't because you're lying and you need to stop.

  • @electricshockproof I am not lying. I never said the NHTSA was responsible for the bailout, but they are a PART of the government and the government owns the car companies. Like i said before, they are just one part of the whole who owns it. They were not responsible for the purchase, but they are still part of a whole owns it, Yes, Toyota's do have black boxes. Just google "Toyota black box" and you will get multiple articles on the topic that prove my point

  • @electricshockproof Yes, some are real.. .maybe 1 or 2. But it wasn't like if you bought a Toyota were taking any real risk like the US government made it seem to be. Maybe they would of done so anyway, even if they didn't own GM and Crystler, but the fact is that they do own those companies and it is wrong they they use any political power to make the competitor look bad.

  • toyota are the best seller cars!!!compare to the american cars that only have a few costumers!

  • @pogita200 that's just compared to Chrysler and GMC which were screwed up by our retarded Liberal Government

  • some people wants toyota down!!because they are the successful car company in the world!!

  • everyone shoudl drive manual cars and shift for themselves, problem solved.

  • politics.......

  • why is this only happening in the usa?

  • @PLISKEN12

It happened in europe too. But toyota blew it off there too.

  • @PLISKEN12 because it's all fake. There were one.. maybe two legit cases that could happen to any car, the rest were just staged or caused by driver error

  • gas pedals shouldnt be computerized. keep that part simple.

  • I've had mechanical gas pedals stick. The linkage of rods and cables can become gummed up and not smoothly function. All machines fail. In my experience Toyota makes cars that fail less than those of other manufacturers.

  • i still dont like the idea of a gas pedal that has a mind of its own

  • Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Even when you let your foot off the gas pedal..

Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Even when you stomp on the brakes..

Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Even when you shift into neutral & pull the E-brake.

Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Until it slams into the back of a semi-truck @ 110 mph

  • A car in neutral will not continue to accelerate. There is no power transmitted to the wheels.

  • I would never buy anything but a toyota their safety record is 50 times higher then any union made junk and they are made in USA only reason the dems. are giving them a hard time because they don't kiss obomas a-- screw the unions

  • Honda Toyota lies cover up,fraud pay offs, shame on the government ours and theirs. Fools would only support this company. Come out of the fog you can trust consumers reports like you can trust toyota for decades they have lied.

  • Mate, my family has never had any problems with Toyotas. Personal experience is the most reliable source. They just had a few errors with TONS of cars. They'll make sure they more than make it up and they have a better record than the big three anyway. My family HAS had serious problems with Fords and GMs.The American companies are the ones the government is protecting. Do you think America would bail out Toyota is they went broke?

  • The Japanese government bailed out Toyota a few years ago.

  • Exactly. It wasn't the American government.

  • @SuperBigGulps

They asked, but they didn't get any bailout loans from the Japanese government.

  • Why would the US bail out Toyota... they are a Japanese company...

I feel dumber now that I read your post

  • No shit Sherlock.

They wouldn't, that's what I'm saying. Apparently some people think the American government is going to be there for Toyota like they were with GM/Ford/Chrysler.

    You really shouldn't comment.

  • Why would you even ask that ?

  • It's called a rhetorical question. =)

  • Understood, but still leaves to ask... who or why someone would expect the US Govt to bail out Toyota.... It was a stupid rhetorical question =}

  • Oh no no no, just pointing out the fact that the US Government would never bother to bail out Toyota via rhetorical question.

Rhetorical questions can't always be intellectual, that would completely over mine their purpose of patronizing people.

  • @klyydsdale

Why would the US government bail out US companies? They are private.

  • This is nothing more then politicians marketing. Congress is not going to do anything, they just want the voters to see them kicking a company the public is unhappy with. This is the same crap Congress did with American auto companies and banks. I suppose congress thinks if they grill companies when they mess up Americans will forget how corrupt and incompetent the US govn't is.

  • Carquestions takes an inside look at the testimony of David Gilbert and Sean Kane as they try and sell a wild theory to Congress. The associate professor Gilbert puts his hand to a remake of some of automotive history's most discredited theories of unintended acceleration while Mr. Kane produces the cooked up paperwork in order to support it. Carquestions attempts to explain "Gilbert's Theorem" but in the end finds a simple explanation is more than sufficient. I

  • My Condolence to Saylor family.

The US Government & CIA were debating really hard as to which family to sacrifice for this Grand-Delusion.

    Firefighter's family or Policeman's Family.

Finally they decided to go for a policeman's family, and put a remote-controlled-accelerator on your car, much like how they did 911, sacrificing 3000 lives.

Not to mention who actually controls the US congress...wink wink

  • When things happened to GM the congress used tax payer money to bail them out and forget everything....these recall has been exaggerated by the U.S. congress. Shame on you.

  • HAPPYBOYY8K, thank you for informing everyone that when GM, et al asked for a bail-out from Congress

1 they had been hiding faults in their cars

    2 hiding accidents,

    3 hiding deaths,

    4 downgrading recalls,

    5 rejoicing about savings.

  • More people were killed driving Ford, GM, and Chrysler vehicles.

My friend's father once drove a Ford he bought recently and the car's engine blew up on the freeway. He almost got killed but was injured.

They never bought a Ford again.

  • CAMPAIGNERS

    > My friend's father once drove a Ford

    > and the car's engine blew up on the freeway.

    > He almost got killed but was injured.

    > They never bought a Ford again.

1 Correct decision. (So if the Toyota you are driving suddenly accelerates or its brakes fail, never buy a Toyota again.)

2 Would your friend's father be CONSOLED if some idiot told him, "But more people have been killed driving other brands!"?

  • 1. No, we did not have any problem with our Toyota, unlike Ford

    2. ?????

  • on 1: REPEAT: You make a decision based on your own experience and your assessment of risks, while other people make their own purchasing decisions based on their own experiences and their asssesment of other people's experiences.

2 On the matter of people getting killed driving a Toyota, you countered that "more people were killed driving Ford, GM and Chrysler vehicles". Now apply that to your friend's father who NEARLY DIED--would he be CONSOLED if some idiot gave him a similar argument.

  • Wow that stupid black guy on the Congressional stand stupidly asks "How should we know things will get better?"

Ummm.... what about Toyota's track record of HIGH QUALITY and SAFETY for the past 40 years?? Yeah, pretty dumb question to ask.

  • VS257

    > stupidly asks "How should we know things will get better?"

    > what about Toyota's track record of HIGH QUALITY

    > and SAFETY for the past 40 years?

If that 40yr-track-record-of-high-quality-and-safety argument were not contradicted by the FACT that problems have been concealed and uncorrected since 1997--the last 13yrs vs the 27yrs before it--there would be no hearings at all, would there.

    . . .

  • The FACT, by the way, is acknowledged by Akio Toyoda himself: "The problems and our failure to promptly correct them started when we grew too fast--we focused on growth and forgot about our reputation for quality UNTIL THEN."

  • ford is the only option and we all know its the best

  • Really? You mean like these Fords?

    watch?v=3eGTqKn_ihc

  • Toyota the best automaker in the WORLD..

  • I will never buy a toyota anyway, I'll stay with my UAW made vehicles

  • Toyota is the best quality car in the world. My families and I have been driving Toyota/Lexus for over 20 years but have not having any problem so far. Every car company had recalls in the past. Love Toyota and continue to buy products from Toyota.

  • Here in the golf (Dubai) Japanese cars are referred to as "Gold" since they don't decrease in value. Toyoto Corolla

You think that recalling millions of cars discredits Japanese car makers? If anything, his symoblises the Japanese principle of commitment and that the customer is GOD!

Just wait until the Chinese cars are popular in US (because they are dirt cheap) and see if Chinese car makers will recall a single car even if it explodes upon startup!!

This move by the USA is very, very low!

  • @WisamSafi1978

I'm not pro Chinese, Chinese car industry is bad, and the car industry in China started much later than Japan. They are not on the same level. You should compare Toyota with American car companies, that's more fair. You don't need to insult Chinese simply to promote the Japanese car makers. This video has nothing to do with Chinese people.

  • @TheXanian I already compared american and japanese cars. Furthermore about Chinese products, in general, you cannot say that they are of high quality. In addition, the "attitude" of Chinese manufactures towards "after sale" service is notorious terrible, not only in cars industries, but in all other industries. Can you show me any current indications showing that chinese industries are going in the right direciton?

  • @WisamSafi1978

Well, this is the video about Japanese and American cars, you don't need to talk about Chinese product here. If you really want to talk about Chinese products, go to another video. Read my comment again, I did not say that Chinese products are good, all I want to say that this video has nothing to do with China, you don't need to talk about China in this video.

  • @WisamSafi1978

Did you really read my comment? When did I say that Chinese product are of high quality? Do you really understand English?

  • @TheXanian

haha... so, you basically tell me that is it wrong to insult Chinese car makers, but you start insulting me? I agree with you on one thing, I don't "need to" talk about Chinese products, but I am "choosing to" to demonstrate the difference between Japanese car makers mentality and other mentalities out there.

For someone who claims that he/she is "not-pro-chinese products" you seem to defend as if they are untouchable.

Don't try to censor me, this is youtube, not China!

  • @WisamSafi1978

I'm not trying to insult you, and I'm not pro China. Yes, Chinese products are bad, but the theme of this video has nothing to do with Chinese products. If you really want to talk about Chinese products, go to find some other videos, this is all I want to say. There are plenty of videos which talks about Chinese products on youtube, go to watch those videos instead.

  • @TheXanian There is a reason for this comparison... The USA has cars from many other countries... but when USA goverment chooses to go after Toyota and start bullying them and prosecute them like this, as if they had done a crime... this is pure hypocrisy... what's the alternative to cheap and effective Japanese cars then? Chinese? or American Cars? Or American Cars made in China??? :D

  • @WisamSafi1978 Thank you ,about time someone tells the truth

  • @WisamSafi1978

I like how you compliment and insult 3 countries at the same time.

  • This is simply an attempt from the US government to trash the Japanese car's reputation in the USA. And escalating it to the congress and treating Toyota's CEO as a criminal is part of the play the government is orchestrating.

The resell value for Japanese car has been for a long time much, much better than that of Amerian cars....

An american car losses up to 50% of it's value within 2 years, however Japanese cars don't loss the same amount until at least 4 years.

  • I agreed with you. This is full of shit that how he was treated. I just wonder what if Japanese's goverment treat GM, Ford and Chrysler the same way as they did to Toyota for their recalls.

  • If GM, Ford and Chrysler did exactly what Toyota did (and what Mitsubishi in Japan did years before), and the Japanese government treated the first three the same way Congress is treating Toyota, that would be FAIR and JUST.

  • @gagothesith

NO thats not fair and the reason for that is, in short, because American is no.1. This may sound absurd for those who strive for equality, but by all means, in the world of politics, quite a few things are actually fair. For example, there were two incidents where American troops accidently killed Korean and Japanese civilians. Koreans never recieved an apology while the japanese got their immediately one day after the incident. May things shouldn't be that way but it is what it is

  • @gagothesith

I respect your message, and appreciate the thoughts on justice. But if I may suggest another counter argument, that would be about market size. GM Ford Chrysler do not sell as much cars in Japan as Toyota does to US.

So if we put this incident in the perspective of consumer and producer, instead of japan and US, my opinion would be, yes the US congress has the right to bash harder than Japan on GM's recall.

  • minor, doubtful. this is one of the biggest automotive recalls in history. they recalld over 8 million cars.I still think they tried to cover the problem up trying to blame floor mats.I mean who honestly thought that, that was the problem?saying ppl were dumb enough not to notice this loose mat flopping around and the driver just didnt notice a mat pushing a gas pedal down.Blaming it on the mats is just another way of saying the driver is a moron for not noticing the mat on the gas pedal

  • 5/5

  • lol it was a minor saftey issue

    this is ridiculous

  • Tell that to the families of the 5 ppl who are dead now.

  • Well there are far more families got killed from each Ford, GM and Chrysler than Toyota. This is just a sensationalist attempt to degrade Toyota. Toyota is still the best automaker out there. Americans are just jealous because their cars are shit and so they are making this unfortunate even their chance to get back at the Japanese.

  • @VS257

Car companies are private. America does not have automakers since those automakers are private.

  • @NWOfighters ya.... dont think so spam comment
