  • I am a gamecock fan and trust me when i say this. JAMES FRANKLIN IS AN ANIMAL. The best damn thing to ever happen to Vanderbilt football. They are making huge strides very fast and any SEC team that doesn't take them seriously is in for an ass whooping. Forget building a program, James Franklin is getting top recruits NOW. Disappointed in their bowl loss, but this team is moving in the right direction. Better give Franklin a raise and extension. He deserves it.

  • what rivalry?

  • Vanderbitl Football Coach James Franklin made perfect sense in saying this. He was very classy. He could have said mean things things about Tennessee's poor reaction to a win, but he didn't. There is nothing wrong with using this as a motivation to win next year. @youesosued- when, in this particualar video, did he say "about more than football"? Just askiing.

  • Does he realize this was the worst Tennessee Football team EVER? Based on overall and SEC record? You only get so many chances.

  • He keeps saying he'll talk about the comment next year but tenn will only get better next year with so much young talent they should be back to being a contender in the SEC

  • U mad bro????? NEXT YEAR MY BUTT!

  • hey remember when vandy thought they were going to win but then eric gordon got a pick-6? i do!!!!!!!!

  • Franklin is a good coach, however, he's coaching an experienced team left to him by Johnson. Not all this somewhat success is his doing and he has a long way to go. Until Tennessee beats a upper echelon SEC team and gets to a championship--they won't get respect. Until Vandy post consecutive winnings seasons with victories over quality opponents-- they won't get respect. Right now their both bottom feeders and the fans gotta live with it.

  • I'm a big Tennessee fan. I was born in Knoxville, and went to UT '99-'03. Still, I gotta admit that I kind of like this guy. He says all the right things and is a great villain for the conference. Now, I don't think he'll be in Nashville for more than two more years, but still, he's good for the conference right now.

  • I hope he remembers tenn will be with hunter and two thumbed bray next year

  • good luck with that one.

its a group of competitive guys, football, a locker room. what else would you expect?

  • I love this coach. He's the right person at the right time for Vandy. The Vols better learn to respect Vanderbilt on Saturdays.

  • @daglmu You have got to be kidding me. This is the worst UT team that I can ever remember. Have fun getting beat by 30 points next year

  • @EaglesVols91 Getting beat by thirty points next year? You're kidding me right? Dooley is a terrible coach and will be gone in a few years. This is Franklin's first year at Vanderbilt, and he already has turned it into the best team we've had in years. Our starting quarter back had only been starting for 4 games, and all of best receivers are freshman. Not to mention we not only keep all of our runningbacks, but gain Warren Norman back, or leading rusher from the previous year.

  • @MicTott I don't know if I'd brag that that a .500 team in the weakest SEC East in history is the best team you've had in years.

  • @cdywolfe They don't won't to see that part of it. Just like when we beat KY their fans always say wait until basketball. Hey Vandy fans.......28 of 29.

  • Great answer Coach Franklin, great answer!

I love how you are shaking up things and getting the UT fans to come here and badmouth Vandy. It shows they know The Frankilin Era is changing the landscape.

  • You better talk about it next year. Tennessee will always own Vandy. To Vandy's credit, they kept it close in their best chance for the next decade to come. Go Vols!!!!

  • @KappinSpaulding Kept is close? God you're ignorant. All you Tennessee fans apparently didn't even watch the game. We played our worst game of the year. Two missed field goals. Countless interceptions. A penalty that turned a blocked field goal into a touchdown. A penalty that put us from UTs 1 yard line to our own 1 yard line. And still Tennessee managed to barely beat us in overtime. We didn't keep it close. We handed you the game on a silver platter, and Tennessee still almost lost. Pathetic.

  • @MicTott You wanna talk about silver platters? What about the 14 points Bray gift wrapped and handed right over to you guys. See? That can work both ways.

  • Yeah, because the Vanderbilt players coming onto the field while the band was still playing and honoring the seniors in the band was totally respectful... stupid. Of course we were excited to win a close game. Who wouldn't be?

  • @7jtipton are you stupid. the team has the right to go out a get warmed up on the field. i was pissed off when vandy's band blocked players from warming up before. if a school wants to have the band play then do it when its not interfering teams preparations before a game or at halftime.

  • @lildwyane yeah I guess I am stupid since what I'm talking about happened during half time... idiot

  • @7jtipton You obviously cant read. I said you have the right to get warmed up during half-time or pregame and when that time comes the band or any other type of performance should already be out of the way. You definitely resemble that wholesome UT education.

  • So after next year when Vandy loses again is he going to storm off the field and then say we will talk about it next year?

  • @fossilfiction This just proves that some UT fans don't know what the heck they are talking about. It was not the loss that he was reffering to when he said that, it was the "sore winner mentality" that bothered him, and the rest of us. Seriously, get your facts straight.

  • Where is the video of the locker room at UT?

  • I'm not sure why we would expect anything different from ut. They win without class and lose without class. If a school doesn't have academics, it must hang its hat on sports.

  • @RuralHousewife saying UT doesn't have academics is ignorant. Yes it is a public school, meaning that it is going to be much easier to get in at UT and much harder at Vanderbilt. However, when a University has top tier programs in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Nuclear Engineering, etc... I don't think it is fair or even true to say that it "doesn't have academics." We aren't a bunch of neanderthals that live only for football.

  • @RuralHousewife Example: My older brother graduated from UT in 2008 with a degree in History. He didn't pay a dime for school and had enough scholarships left over so that he actually ended up making money while in school. I don't think most Vandy grads can say that while they are paying an exorbitant $50,000 a year. He got into both NYU and Georgetown law schools and chose to go to Georgetown. He has since graduated and now works for Skadden in D.C. I'd say UT has a lot to hang it's hat on.

  • Classact.... There's nothing else to say :)

  • Oh he mad

  • Thank you Coach Franklin.

At the end of the day, we're proud to be Vanderbilt and always compete with character and class... while the Vols have to wake up every day and be themselves. It's about more than football.

    Go 'Dores!

  • @wasouthwood Ha...nice try. It's always "about more than football" when you lose a game, right?

  • @youresosued no, not really. thanks for trolling on the page though

  • @wasouthwood It's a locker room celebration. It is what happens in every single locker room after every win.
