anybody know the name of the song thats played after pop goes the weasel? I recently heard it in, I believe, a robert taylor movie. nice song with beautiful chords.
This is one of my favorite Pete Smiths! I feel bad for the poor dog--what a mess he was when she turns the faucet on him! I wonder today, what that $3 dinner would cost, and if a wife today would serve sausages to her husband's boss?
Originally released in April 1937 (and one of the few "Specialties" released in color). It was so successful, "Prudence Penny" returned for another "Specialty" the following year, "Penny's Party". Gertrude Short appears as "Chloe Smudge"; William Newell is "Matthew E. Smudge".
1:43 -- I remember this scene from the three-screened TV set in Tex Avery's "House of Tomorrow"! I always thought the film was run backwards to create that rolling pin effect; obviously I was wrong...

This is hilarious. I love these old films. The humor is so clean, but so funny. I love the innocence of them.
I love the dog in this movie, too. Look how he looks when she picks him up to put him in the sink!

Got it! It's angry teacher before the opening credits.

I, too, also discovered this, and "Menu," on TCM. Amazing! Long live the Festival of Shorts! XD

Thanks for another great Pete Smith video. :) I love that mans voice. I wonder whatever happened to Prudence Penny, however....
